    It’s very eye-opening seen from the seat of a motorcycle for the first time. Even if you’ve been through Colorado in a car, going through the mountains on a motorcycle is a completely new experience. It didn’t get old for me the second time, third time, or any other amount of times...

    There's a gravel road East of US550 between Durango and Silverton. I remember it as Lime Creek Road or similar? It avoids some paved miles but adds time. Mostly 2nd gear with dropoffs of a few hundred feet. Nice scenery. Some turns would be difficult or impossible with a modern big pickup.
