Nice pictures, looks like a nice trip.
Plenty of shoulder on 550, nothing thing to worry about.
It’s very eye-opening seen from the seat of a motorcycle for the first time. Even if you’ve been through Colorado in a car, going through the mountains on a motorcycle is a completely new experience. It didn’t get old for me the second time, third time, or any other amount of times...
The picture to verbiage ratio in this thread is superb!!
You guys visited some cool areas. I like the pictures.
A group of 4 of us are heading out in July. Mostly single track technical stuff with some of the passes involved as well. Your pictures are getting me excited!
I am smiling with you..
Every time you point and shoot.
I am reminded of all the times I DIDNT?
After many miles and many GoldWings, I retired and now Have a Vstrom.

Thank you for posting.
There's a gravel road East of US550 between Durango and Silverton. I remember it as Lime Creek Road or similar? It avoids some paved miles but adds time. Mostly 2nd gear with dropoffs of a few hundred feet. Nice scenery. Some turns would be difficult or impossible with a modern big pickup.
My XR650L on this road in 2019.
