My 06 had a couple of problems.
It did have some heat blast onto my ankles, I solved it with some foam, it seemed that the factory foam didn't extend to the plastic. Not a big deal.
I did however have to replace the ignition assembly, it did stop the bike. I am sure a wire broke.
Funny thing was I loosened the cable when I replaced the triple tree with a riser and ball bearings. I know that it would remove the lock on the triple tree but, I may move the ignition key assembly to another location so the wire doesn't have to flex. I do have the old assembly and would just have to use 2 different keys, which we have to do anyway now.

I ended up selling it to my son, I couldn't get comfortable in a sport bike sitting position. (This is a personal problem)

I really liked the bike though.

Just got my new ADV stickers from Gadget Boy and he asked for some pix of the new stickies, thought I'd drop them in here.

FYI, Yamaha has just issued a recall for the ignition switches.

    I replaced in last spring.

What type of recall? Are they mailing it out?

    Thanks for the info.

Love the '09 paint. Especially the wheels. Too bad my '06 is so perfectly farkled. I can't bear the thought of starting from scratch with a new bike.

Could you guys give me an idea on pricing a used bike?

    Moko sliders
    helibar risers

    powerlet

    Fenda-extenda
    hyperlites
    Gaurauld backrest

Relatively good condition. No drops, no crashes etc. Regular maintenance. I know it's subjective depending on the part of the country/weather and other factors, but just a general idea.

    Thanks!

So $7K would be a pretty good deal?

That's a great deal. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if everything checked out.

My wife and I were bored yesteerday so I talked her in to stopping by the local bike shop to gawk. I sat on an FJR. All I can say is "wow"! The seating position was perfect. I really really want to take one for a ride. Obviously these ahve a good reputation. They had a Concours next to it and it was apples and oranges in terms of ergos.
