Right up my alley! It's funny but this period may actually push me in to setting up a workshop, enquired about a unit today, would like a lathe and a mill and no real plan how to make a living!! At the moment I thought alot about a lockdown project and decided not to do a bike or even an engine, did look at steam too. No idea what'll happen so doing a bolt together, I'm building a pukka downhill mountain bike from scratch instead, just what every self harming 50 year old needs

Feet up and sliding!! Way to go Scotty! I love those pictures of a sliding flat tracker with both feet up and right hand in position to crank it hard.

I know it's not a Vintage shot , but , this just reminded me of how much I miss action like this.

Put a pic on the road racers thread with a link
Geoff Nickless gradually releasing superb multi discipline bike shots from a 40 year career.
I'm loving them, most come with notes too.

"On your left!" 2 Kenny Roberts gets under Rookie Expert 32x Garth Brow in Turn 2, at the 1977 San Jose Mile. Kenny on his custom Kenny Roberts Racing Frames Yamaha OW72 was the only Yamaha mounted rider to make the 25 Lap Main Event, finishing 11th. Garth on his Harley-Davidson XR-750, finished 9th. Yamaha saw the writing on the wall with their Dirt Track efforts, and the following season they went off to Europe to concur the Road Racing World Championship. The following season, Garth rode with AMA National Number 15. As I have previously mentioned, Kenny's Yamaha OW72 is on display at the Moto Talbott Collection in Carmel Valley, California.

Being from the UK I've never seen a Harley that far off the ground unless it was being thrown off a cliff, they must come down with a hell of a thump!

Those are two Harleys I'd like to own. A stripped down chassis with a hopped up Sporty engine would be fun! Oh hey! Sounds like a tuber frame Buell to me.

Another jump shot from the '83 Houston Astrodome. This is Steve Wise, who was then best known as a motocross rider, showing the TT guys how to style.

That photo doubles my pulse rate. I loved races at the Astrodome, affectionately called the "foam-dome"!

Those Yamaha 465's & 490's were evil on an oval. Just evil. But my doG, did they have drive out of a corner.

When you were in a corner, anytime you applied power, they wanted to stand up and would high side the unwary. I rode one after multiple people tried and failed to tame the evil handling pig, somehow I survived and figured out how to use the power. But once was enough, never rode it again.
