    Flea Market Rules

IMPORTANT. Please read the CHECKLIST below before posting. All posts must comply with the full site rules.

Violations of these rules may result in the removal of individual posts or the entire thread without notice and you may receive moderator messages or warnings. Repeat offenders may be subject to further disciplinary measures upto and including a site ban.

    1. The FM is for inmate to inmate sales only. All sales and trades etc. are buyer beware. Please read the sticky threads in this forum regarding scammers and safe methods of payment.
    2. If you see a problem click the "report" link and we will look into it.
    3. If you have any questions, please PM one of the flea market mods. @barnyard or @Bultaco206
    4. When an item is sold, found, gone or if you withdraw it from sale please edit your thread title by adding a Prefix - top right of your original post > Thread Tools > Edit Title > Popup > Drop down > select the appropriate Prefix.
    5. Old ads get locked after 30-45 days of inactivity.
    6. Let's keep it nice and about the sale. Helping each other out vs. making a profit is what this is about.

    Helpful Flea Market Ad Checklist

Please take a moment to read through this checklist which documents the requirements for posting a new ad in the the Flea Market. The checklist is intended to assist you with preparing a complete ad that will best serve you as a seller and the inmates that might be interested in your items. It will also help prevent your post from being removed because it doesn't comply with these rules.
    1. Is this item yours? It not, you may not sell it here. This includes WTB threads.
    2. Are there links to outside sales sites? If so, please remove them before posting. Do not mention any outside sites where the item is also listed.
    3. Where is the item located? Please enter the city/state (and perhaps country as appropriate) where the item is located. This information must be clearly stated in the ad.
    4. Each item must have a cash value. If it's for sale, this is what the seller wants for the item. If you'd like to trade, then use the item's trade value. All items listed in an ad MUST have a cash value.
    5. Pictures and accurate descriptions help sell items. Add sufficient detail and images that a potential buyer will probably want when considering an item.
    6. Are you selling multiple offerings of the same item? If so, your listing may likely belong in Vendors where commercial sales are allowed.
    7. Are you selling firearms, weapons, or related items? These are not permitted in our Flea Market.

Reply standards for the ADV Rider FM (bumping)

Once an ad is completed and posted, it is the job of the original poster to provide answers to questions from legitimate potential buyers.
    1. Replies to a thread are limited to inmates who have a serious interest in purchasing or supplying an item and follow-up responses by the original poster.
    2. To show your appreciation for an ad, use the "like" button. Comments other than this will be deleted and should not be replied to. This restriction is for the purpose of fairness. It prevents ads from being driven off the front page by otherwise well-intentioned "GLWS" or similarly off-topic responses.
    3. The original poster may 'bump' the thread after 5 days from the date of their last comment.

What goes where in the Flea Market?

Your ad should go into one of the following 4 sub-forums.

    1. Bikes - Anything with 2 wheels and a motor. Well, maybe 3 if it's a hack or road designed trike. Whether you are selling it, want to buy it, or want to trade it for another bike or something else, Bikes is your place.
    2. Parts - Bike parts go here. Also, accessories (aka "farkles"), as well as bike electronics like GPS units, mounts, com systems, panniers & frames, racks, tank & tail bags, extra wheels, tubs for hacks, and the like.
    3. Gear - - Think ATTGAT. Clothes, gloves, boots, helmets, etc. designed or used specifically for riding. This does not include climbing boots, your fave pair of Vans, Orange County hoodie, etc. That stuff goes in Other
    4. Other - If it doesn't fit into one of the above categories, it goes here - like ATV's, radar detectors, cars, trucks, capuccino makers, washers and dryers, drag cars - we've seen it all. Most time it's tents and camping gear, non-ATTGAT clothing, and the like. This includes items you may want to trade for a motorcycle, or other item, but do not fit the kind of item that should be listed in that category.

A few words about Tapatalk in the FM

If you use Tapatalk to view Adv, please switch to a regular browser in the FM. This is particularly important if you are selling.

It appears that Tapatalk users do not receive alerts from Adv. These alerts may come from buyers or mods and they help further the sale of your item, missing these alerts may result in missed selling opportunities.

It also appears that tapatalk users cannot change the custom headline once an item sells. This is particularly annoying to someone searching for something, only to find out that it has sold, but the seller cannot change the title.

Make your sale easier by ditching tapatalk in the FM.

Do not use Paypal Friends and Family in the flea market
This is a bad deal for the buyers, and here's why.
    1. It is a violation of the PayPal TOS. You are telling PayPal that it's a gift, but it's not.
    2. You are left with no protections. If the items do not arrive, that's too bad for you.
Very few Flea Market transactions go bad, which speaks very highly of the members here. Of those that do go bad, meaning that items are paid for but not sent, the correlation with PayPal gift seems like it's near 100%.

You folks are adults, and we aren't going to tell you how to spend your money, or what risks to take in life, but PayPal gift seems like a big risk to save small dollars.

If you get ripped off, please let @Bultaco206 or @Ginger Beard know so we can keep an eye on those who do not respect the community, but you will be mocked if you have to admit you used PayPal gift to purchase items in the FM.
