Next ride Sunday 3/28. Open for anything that you mugs want to do. I have many loops in my head. Like Flappy said, keep an eye on the sandbox thread.
I know that parking lot!! Traveled that road everyday for years going to work in Dade City (Pasco Mtrs.) Started eating at Papa Joes when his joint was iti biti ( 1980 on the north end of that same spop) not the whole strip store building. Next time your around there stop in at Iron Werks shop just south right off Spring Lake Rd. Scott has some neat stuff in his building
You could be the tour guide!! Do you know if or how Uncle Dave Pras @ Tri-County Cycles on Hwy. 98 just north of B'ville is doing? I lived in Istachatta for a few years.
I ride either a 2014 VStrom 650, or a 2006 GZ250, depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going. Probably going to sell the 250 for a dual sport in the future tho. As for what shop... I just moved down here a couple years ago, and only recently got into the Vstrom. The 250 is such a simple (and bulletproof) bike, I did all the work myself. You know any good shops around here?
My family plans for this weekend were kinda up in the air until the last minute. I had until 1pm today to ride and meet the family for Easter dinner. I have included a link to my tracks from Brandon to Floral City. This is some of the best riding in Florida. Enjoy. http://mt.513gs.com/?d=96adfd&l=en&u=1
That looks like a great ride. I grew up in Dade City/Brooksville and really miss living up that way. I'm actively trying to convince the wife to move north. I was able to get a little bit of riding in this afternoon once we got back from visiting family. Rode from home, just north of Lakewood Ranch, up to Tail of the Gecko. Turned around at the Moody Branch parking lot so I could get back for dinner. Perfect weather this evening.
Moody is always a welcome stop when chasing the Gecko. I am just now getting re-acquainted with Hernando and all its glory. It's worth the 1 hour ride to get to the good stuff. Found some more really nice new to me roads yesterday. Gotta luv it.
Today I ran the same route as last week and fine tuned everything. Connected all the dots. See My Tracks attached. http://mt.513gs.com/?d=977f89&l=en&u=1
Did some back road riding east of Sarasota this morning. Found a nice canopy road and very little traffic once I got away from the hustle and bustle of Lakewood Ranch. I had planned to go another 30 miles past my stopping point but I'm convinced the seat on my Ninja 400 was originally used as a medieval torture device. I ordered a Corbin seat tonight, hopefully that helps as I was ready to be off the bike for the day after only 45 minutes of riding.
I just uploaded the .gpx file to the GPS thread. Look for "Tampa Bay area" in the Florida section. Enjoy!!
