Doesn’t it kind of sound like a movie title? I made this on my phone on the way home today for something to do

Sounds like your next product line needs to be the pangolin panniers

Considering they're the most trafficked animal in SE Asia, glad to see them fighting back.:clap

Depends on what you want. The biggest selection is at Pop's, but there are a few others that are smaller and good. Tony's Big Bike I think is one (not sure if he is still going), and if you google you'll find several others. The most common ones to rent are the classic Honda 250 dual sports, loads of CB500Xs, Suzuki V-Stroms, etc., and even Africa Twins. Everyone usually finds a place they like and sticks with it, but there are several good ones. FB pages are often where most of the action is for shops here.

This was one of those rare ride reports that I anxiously looked forward to reading every night. Thank you both for taking us all along. You’ve opened my eyes to Vietnam and Laos as a future destination.

    Peace!

Unreal. For years I’ve been saying all my heroes are regular people who have threads right here on this forum. You’re for sure on that list, Ashley!

Well, I only got to meet half the duo, but it was great seeing you here, Pete.... even if it was because you were busted.

Now... as for Pangolins... I do believe I could pull out a photo of me with one, but I'm not sure I should.

That pic has a story, with links to a Royal Wedding, the Trump, Kim Jong-un... and a bit more besides.... but it's one that can only be told over a beer.

    Later, that same day....

They don't call me the Bigfella for nothing....

But we digress. Hope to run into you with your better half next time. Come ride Northern Thailand.... we've got some back roads and trails that will knock your socks off

Aw shucks heaps of gratitude for sharing that @derekdeadend thank you very much.

Ive got two bits of good news:
    1) @Sideoff is doing great. He has a new blue cast that was set here in the PNW. Gah( my dude is such a trooper! He’s even going to road trip down to California for the ADV Days event at Rawhyde Zakar next week. I’ll be flying in, will we see any of you there?

    https://rawhyde-offroad.com/events/adventure-days/

    Also,

    2) I’m not quite done with the rr yet! I’ve got several days to cover. Actually I’m really looking forward to carving out some time for an entry on Friday.

Now that I’ve been back stateside for a few days the whole experience is settling in. It’s like all of the little nuances, the mini dramas, the challenges and the sheer joy of it all; it’s revealing itself to me slowly.

I grew more than I thought I could on that trip.

    I’ll never, ever forget it.

It’s like I’m slowly unpacking an enormous suitcase. Day by day, I’m getting it done - and each day as I extend my fingertips into the suitcase and reach around, I pull out an indescribably precious and glittering gem, it lights up the room so effortlessly. I don’t remember packing all the gems!

I have a strong sense of clarity and self acceptance presently, something I think we all yearn to feel more often than we do. And I’ve struggled with it all my life if I’m honest. I feel as though I was untying knots while I rode, untying the knots inside, all alone.

    I’m on cloud 9.

Or, ok... fine, cloud 8. The wicked case of jet lag knocked me down a level, I’ll admit it.

I hope everyone is staying healthy, casting a vote, and having a fantastic week! I’ll catch ya in a couple of days

Awesome! I bailed on Thailand and just booked a ticket back to LA. I land same day Adventure Days begins... so I’ll see you guys out there. I’ll be the zombie stumbling around with jet lag.
