Met up with Mark96 by accident in St. Adolphe. Thank you for initiating. MOSTLY LURKER, myself...

Wonderful conversation ensued. Many similarities in history and philosophy re riding!

Look forward to more of the same,

If that was your KLR you'd need a helicopter to get it out.

After doing the sand trails in Sandilands last weekend, I'm excited to try again.
LOL, Nice picture. Was that on the Northstar somewhere?

The trails are all in Sandilands, east of Marchand around the Eastman ATV staging area, and the train bridge can be found here:

I’m away at the moment but will work on a better description as to which area the trails are located.

This area seems to be the place to ride. I went North last weekend and it was flat, sorta muddy, and boring. Back to Sandilands this week!

Little run this afternoon, took the KLR out 207 to Dawson Rd to the Eastman ATV trails, and rattled around there a little until I realized I was 100 km from home by myself in deep sand on a 420 lb bike.

Home via La Broquerie and Steinbach.

    225 km round trip.

A few of us ROGs (retired old guys) got in a loop thru the Pembina Hills today, following the .gpx track I'd shared previously. The gravel roads were soft and muddy in spots, from the heavy rains previous night, fields west of the city were saturated, water in the ditches... any unimproved dirt roads would be impassible. The loop, starting and ending at Oak Bluff was 367 kms GPS verified (the track file shows 375 kms). I did notice in places where the track, created using the Garmin Canada Top map, was way off to the side of the actual road in places! A few pics... and the other guys took some pics too, will hopefully post a few pics as well.

A pioneer log homestead on an old farm in the valley north of La Riviere:

The road was pretty much dirt here, not much gravel - beautiful valley!

Further south, just outside (NW of) La Riviere:

Gas available at Manitou, for those not riding supertankers (KLRs). We carried on south from there to the Pembina Valley Provincial Park at the border (closed due to Covid19 - bugger!). By mid afternoon, the gravel had dried out, things got pretty dusty and we spaced out more - here Mark & Neil catch up, and we take a short break before riding back down into the valley:

Lots of zig zagging around to follow the valley towards the border:

Fun ride, great company, and got a nice weather day to do it!

Hello all. New to the forum. Don't mean to hijack anyone's thread but I had a question that another Winnipeger might be able to help with. Was looking to ride the Manitoba section of the TCAT, but have not been able to get a response from the Gravel Travel website. Sent an email a week ago (and donation for the website) but still have not heard anything back. Anybody know how long it takes for them to respond? I was hoping to get the GPS coordinates before the weekend because I wanted to head out Saturday to start riding it with another guy. Is there any where else to find this GPS download. Thanks in advance for any advice.
