    Hi all,
In preparing to put my semi-restored/updated XL185s on the road, I have begun the acquisition of riding gear.

I picked up a pair of hardly used Forma Cape Horn boots for a super low price. Reviews, articles, etc have been tended to, but I would like some insight. There are many boots I have seen on the market, read reviews, checked pricing, and simply am not in the market to spend even $150 on a pair of new boots. Used was my route and I have seen some great deals, just not my size (eBay specifically).

The tread pattern on these seems lacking for light trail riding/puddle encounters, snow walking, slick spots of mud/ice, etc. I was looking for a more lugged sole, but found these and figured they may make the cut. Having them in hand now, seeing the pattern looks decent.

For you all who have/had a variety of boots for trail/dual sport riding (not MX/Trials), how do you think these could perform in the above mentioned terrains? I realize this is a very subjective question as terrains/persons vary with boot performance.

Pictures for reference showing ‘tread depth’ with ole Abe.

How did these work out for you? I'm considering the same boots and have the same questions. What size did you buy and how did they fit?

Way late response. I am sorry to just now be seeing this.

I got rid of those boots and went with the Gaerne G-Adventure. These were too tall for me and I just was not sold on the tread pattern as I wanted more of an ATV pattern. Crazy comfortable though.
