Hi all, In preparing to put my semi-restored/updated XL185s on the road, I have begun the acquisition of riding gear. I picked up a pair of hardly used Forma Cape Horn boots for a super low price. Reviews, articles, etc have been tended to, but I would like some insight. There are many boots I have seen on the market, read reviews, checked pricing, and simply am not in the market to spend even $150 on a pair of new boots. Used was my route and I have seen some great deals, just not my size (eBay specifically). The tread pattern on these seems lacking for light trail riding/puddle encounters, snow walking, slick spots of mud/ice, etc. I was looking for a more lugged sole, but found these and figured they may make the cut. Having them in hand now, seeing the pattern looks decent. For you all who have/had a variety of boots for trail/dual sport riding (not MX/Trials), how do you think these could perform in the above mentioned terrains? I realize this is a very subjective question as terrains/persons vary with boot performance. Pictures for reference showing ‘tread depth’ with ole Abe.
