I was going to say that there's a nice route up to Trinidad after you cross into NM at Glenrio but damn daddy, 960 miles in one day?

Do you guys have in-flight refueling on those bikes?

Wish I was going but I couldn't keep up :D

Bring a bunch of 500 mg Naproxens. Load up Friday night and keep it rolling all day Saturday :-) I used to run from Boulder CO to Missoula MT in a day on a 955 Tiger, which I think was also right about 960 if I remember correctly. Was'nt too bad but I'd feel it for a few days.

I once did 1100 miles from Ft. Bragg, NC to Boerne, tx in 18 hours. I was doing at least 82 MPH once, or so the officer stated as he handed me my ticket!

IN.... Looks like a fun trip. Have you guys covered 960 miles and then turn around and knock out 500 miles with a border crossing before?

kind of.....Joe has a 5 gal. aux tank on the VFR, I have a 1.7 gal Camel Aux. tank on the twin. Whenever we run Craig out of gas, we are trying to figure out how to get the hose from Joe's keg to Craig's wing without having to slow down..........

We each of have done numerous Saddlesore 1000's over the years. Joe has done the Coast to Coast under 50 hours ride a couple of years ago. Joe and I have done the "Ride around Texas" iron butt ride. That involves about 3000 miles in about 3.5 days.

Each year the IBA has the Texas Iron Butt one day rally. For the past 5 or 6 years, we have always completed the 1000 miles in about 16-18 hours. That is having to stop and take pics with the rally flag and document. Since it is all open road from Amarillo to Billings, I am expecting to have it done in about 16 hours.

Sooooo, yes we do have the defective gene :) We don't have a set schedule, so if we aint having fun, we will sit by the pool and drink umbrella drinks:)

Im in. If you can endure 287 from DFW to Amarillo, the rest is cake. Possibly my least favorite stretch of road.
