interesting, for me they are always visible
You have a touchscreen, right?
I entered with firefox and had the same appearance.Back to chrome...
Seems like your page layout is different.Where are the views/replies/ last message columns?
The screen Plumer posted is what I see on my home PC using Firefox. Didn't even think of trying chrome or edge to see if it displays differently. I like those last 4 page numbers to show.
Which theme are you guys currently using?
You can see it below I’m using black responsive (orange)
The same with you.Check the screenshot above...
I use firefox and see the same as @plumer1kt. I don't see the page numbers until I hover over the thread title. This changed only last week I think, or fairly recently.
It is the same whether I use Firefox, Chrome or Edge.
Again, this has to do with whether you have a touchscreen or not.
Is there a reason that we can't get alerts from "The Welcome Mat: New Member Introductions" forum?
Watching every other forum , we have the option to get alerts .
Did something change recently where you combined the insert pic by URL and upload a pic buttons? Now when you click it add image icon it takes a couple seconds (on a decent desktop) for the combined dialog to come up, long enough for me to think that I didn't hit it right the first time.. bit annoying when you're posting multiple images, the delay adds up.
It's been like that for a couple of months. Slower to load but more options once loaded. And if you are writing a post that requires more than one pic, the second and further pics it is right there (ie doesn't take as long to load).
1. Have the mods/front page editor(s) apply hashtags to each front page article by subject. The list of subjects corresponds to (only) the top-level forum topics.
2. Place a hyperlink (or maybe a sticky) at the top of each forum. When clicked, a list of the front-page articles that contain that hashtag is displayed.
This would effectively create a hashtag-driven "filter" of the front-page articles, accessible from the corresponding forum, and drive forum traffic to the front page. Readers who go directly to the forums would see their normal inmate-created content, AND get a "news-feed" of related front-page articles that they are interested in.
^ ^ ^ Alternative: Apply the hashtags to each article, but have a drop-down box on the front page, to filter the articles displayed by any of the hashtags.
Thanks AG... interesting ideas for sure. @Pauladv
@ag_streak @Ruby that is a very interesting idea. I had not considered aligning tags with forum categories, but it makes a lot of sense, and would be a good first step to some of your other ideas.
I am giving tags (on the front page) a lot of thought recently and looking to rejig them. I will keep this in mind. Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas.
A minor thing, but on the first line below the ADV banner my display shows:
Forum home /drop down menu / acct link /inbox /alerts
All is well until I get a PM alert at which time the user link and inbox disappear (unless I'm in portrait mode) and only the Alerts w/counter remain.
The alerts counter is kinda useless as you'll see everything posted by going to the watched threads link, and it is a rare occasion I need to get to my account settings. The PM inbox however is something I would prefer to see.
Any way to make the inbox the default remaining counter when the space is overloaded?
Any below combination I use produces the same results..
Android, in both Oreo and Pie
BTW, it's not said often enough... Thanks for all you guys do for us.
Yeah I get that too. But it is not really an issue as I just click on my name and my profile menu pops up enabling me to access the PM. Having done that the menu goes back to normal.
Ahhh, yes that is a problem.
Ok, I mispoke... It does change to show my user name, with the alert counter, but I never noticed when the inbox disappears. The second Red count box is what I notice as the alert counter is always showing
Not software/usability related, but rather the Flea Market rules.
We already nuke ads for external links, posting something doesn't belong to you, and more. In light of the recent scams involving PMs referring WTB ads to third parties, shouldn't we just prohibit all ads that ask the buyer to pay via PP Friends & Family?
