They really are; the Mushmanz has been teasing them for some time now... Looks like he might have done your license plate and light mod as well -- I'll get to that too, probably same time I drop for some cast wheels. Ya kind of put the wind up me about the spoke nipple design, but having talked to some of owners that have been riding the wire wheels hard on the Stelvio since get-go, and that they still hold air better then the BMW, Ducati or Yamaha wheels, and the engineering explanation I got about how the o-rings are not exposed to UV, and are just a back up for a metal-to-metal seal that's already air-tight and gets tighter with time -- I'm not too worried. But while my wire hoops will probably last longer then me, the quick change nature of the wheels on a shaft drive bike with a rear strut swing arm makes having a second set very appealing, especially when they look that good!

New to me recently, but almost brand new, so to speak. It is a 2012 and only dome 14,500km when I picked it up! Many extras already installed.
Absolutely loving it. Put 3,500km since and it hasn't missed a beat.
I'm amazed that only the US website offers them for sale. They haven't been sold in Australia for a while now, so this one is going to have to see me out, and I'm sure it will.

No light or plate mods on mine. What's that story?

Welcome aboard! I wouldn't lament the lack of advertising and marketing down under, Moto Guzzi has horrid marketing everywhere -- and you have Pet (Motomoda) Roper; got a whole continent of people here that would love to live within a weeks driving distance of that guy. Congrats on the new machine, looks almost broken in.

Mushmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanz! Sorry, I have an autistic like tic with your name, I think those hot wheels trigger it; you should sell them to me! :D The license plate and light mod are aftCG's discovery documented here.

As a 2012 it's worth making sure it's a roller tappet engine, the changeover point was in May. If it's still a flattie get it fixed ASAP! Is that the one Mario had on the floor?

I didn't buy it from Mario, but it was serviced by Thunderbikes at its last service. It's getting close to the 20k service now, so will take it to him and get the lowdown on it. Running well at this stage though.

Just because it's running well doesn't mean it isn't destroying itself. If it's a flattie it is destroying itself. Inspection of the left cambox takes about 15 minutes on a Stelvio.

This is not *Normal* or acceptable wear.

I could not have asked for a more awesome, octane boosted, 400 mile afternoon ride in the NC / VA mountains today..

it was all like this (if you are a flatlander takes a bit to acclimate back to never ending twisties)

This is the actual road, and wonder why they named it so! You should ride it when in the area!

    upload_2017-6-18_23-30-17.png

and then proceeded to waste an entire afternoon scrubbing the chicken stripes, riding some gravel and bothering trout fishermen.. while I got a new tag going in the game

Danville Hydro plant. About 4 miles dirt, well maintained road, following the river, in an absolutely gorgeous area.

    It was a good day!

Sometimes I wonder, why would I go anywhere else to ride?
