hey guys... been a little while, I just got my book yesterday in the mail, my wife was like, what the hell is this, you spent 25.00 on some natinal geographic book of maps... I was like what. I can't believe the quality of what it is. It has lots of very nice rides in it, while miles, and times. And yes the bar code says it cost 25.00 but they didn't ask for anything. It was totally free. It took forever, I actually forgot about it, I will go back and see when I read this, cause thats when i requested it, and edit this post to say how long it took.

Well worth the free cost ans the wait, deff gonna run some of the trips with my dad, it will be lots of fun.:cob

So i looked I requested it on May 2nd, its July 8th when i recieved it, thats 9 weeks, not 2 to 3 weeks like the site said. But again it was free. Deffinatley order it.

At the end it asks to share your e mail with some commercial companies. I sus[ect they are paying for the book to some extent.

    ....
I was expecting some map or something small packed with ads and stuff. That was around 2 or 3 weeks ago. Last night I went to my mailbox and got a frickin' book. No ads, nothing else in the plastic envelope or anything.

I had totally forgotten about this thread - couldn't figure out what came in the mail from FHWA until I opened the envelop and there it was. Best deal I've gotten on anything this year. :deal

Got mine today, great book! It missed one scenic highway/byway R-Dubb, Jean-Luc, TravelToad, and BLevy's trip up the Pacific Crest Trail in 2004. That has to be the number one scenic trip on a "road" of a lifetime...

But it's all true the book is free :D

Nice book with some beautiful photos. What you'd expect from National Geographic.
