No ride, so it's a no go for me. You all have a blast and enjoy Steve's breakfast. If you haven't been, the cabin is in a neat spot and Steve is quite the gracious host.

When I got home this morning, snow was hitting hard starting about 9000 ft. It melted before I left for work this afternoon, but the clouds were rolling in again and it was making some poor attempts at drizzling.

I'm in not sure what I will be showing up on or in. I am such a procrastinator I wish I had started doing fire research earlier I would have shown up with some urine boiled tree fungus but not enough time now. I don't think I will be in the competition but I am hoping to see some weird stuff.

Is there anything that I should bring?

I'm in for a 1/2 gallon of OJ (I'll get a gallon if I can bungee it tightly to the DR). I've earned the nickname "Johnny Ten-Match" from my dad, so I'm not so great at making fire without some form of petroleum. I can bike-pool up with Mountain Eagle, if that's cool. A DS ride before dark sounds like fun.

You are welcome, and congratulations to you and Greg for being the only ones to start a fire with just a flint and steel.

Thanks from Wendy and I as well. We would have liked to stay longer, but it was nice to see everyone again, if only for a little while.

Rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub.

    Our gracious host ..

On to the "contest", where Grofman is the solo contestant. He says that he can start a fire by rubbing his knuckles on a file...

Sounds fishy, but there is evidence of this method working.....

GregInBoulder is wizened, and he remembers what it was like before matches and stuff. He says he can get it going by spitting on it...

The spit seems to work. There's a spark in there....

    Then, when nobody's looking.....presto!

    Yeah Wayne you shoulda !!!

You know I solely bought that land, built that cabin, and had that party cause it was close to where you live in Golden. Its only 15 minutes away from you. And then you don't even show up.
Geeez what's a guy have to do ??!!!

Calling Bullshit Wayne. I was still drunk that morning and made it. (didn't drive)
Was a good time and wish I could have stayed longer. Inspiring Cabin none the less. My only wish is that I could have had the coordination to attempt the fire starting contest and had brought my french toast and bacon home. It didn't make it all the way...
