1700 miles and 4 nights camping. Camped in Lake Superior Provincial Park along Rte 17 in Ontario Canada on Lake Superior. Started out in Sandusky, Ohio and traveled up to the top of Lake Superior near Marathon, Ontario in August 2017.

From Sandusky Ohio I took Rte 2 West to the Toledo area where I took 23 North all the way up to Flint, MI and got on 75 North. I took 75 North all the way to Sault Ste. Marie and crossed over into Canada. Once in Canada I got onto 17 North. I took and pretty much stayed on 17 North all the way to the top of Lake Superior.

I camped for four nights at the Lake Superior Provincial Park - Agawa Bay Camping Area.

From there I traveled North and South on Route 17. The furthest North I went was Marathon, Ontario. I did a lot of hiking in the Pukaskwa National Park just South of Marathon in Heron Bay, Ontario off Route 17 on Route 627. Very nice area and a great hiking spot.

I ate breakfast a couple times in Wawa, Ontario.

On the way home I got off in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and went down to the Soo Locks to watch the big lake ships go thru the locks. This was a great detour plus there is a lot of good food places in town. I would suggest stopping here!!!

Nice pictures, I travel that road between the Soo and Wawa a few times a week, and it's amazing the changes , it can go from peaceful to violent in a day or a few hours, imagine those shots on the waterfront you took with 20+ foot ice filled waves crashing in.

    Thanks for sharing.

Yea...I heard it gets a little chilly up there in the winter.

Well...I don't have any GPS tracks but I can tell you the route I took.

From the Toledo area I took 23 North all the way up to Flint, MI and got on 75 North. I took 75 North all the way to Sault Ste. Marie and crossed over into Canada. Once in Canada I got onto 17 North. I took and pretty much stayed on 17 North all the way to the top of Lake Superior..

Thanks! I will have to make a route based off this! Sounds like an awesome ride. I have a 400 so I may have to find some "alternative" roads that may take me a little longer but still... this is very helpful

Love the pictures. Never forget waking up in Thunderbay with ice on my bike. Talk about getting me and da Bandit back South.

Great landscapes. I see it was too wavy to view the pictographs. I took a few pics a few weeks ago for you.

Sounds like a great ride! My wife and I have driven the road north of Superior a number of times in winter, but I've never been there when it wasn't snow-covered. I'm in Wisconsin, and this looks like one of those "must do" rides.
