The stock Aussie Val looks to have a fair bit of rake to the forks. 152mm or 6 inch trail means the front wheel needed to move forward a good 4inches and some would go more. Negative trail would be a death trap. Looks a lot though and not just in the pictures.

Well in all honesty that 24 to 25 figure is achievable but rarely. And it’s puttering along at 50mph in good weather with no head wind on straight roads. I’m a slow timid driver and mpg reflect that.

Mine was a 1994 model with the Champion Escort sidecar. Last time I saw, it had an American flag wrap. On the above rig, for $2000, you get a double wide hack. Sell the GW for parts.
Wow, that is low. The lowest I have gotten with my 2014 Gear up is 31 mpg. That is all around town, and after I put the short windshield on the sidecar for the colder weather. 2 up with no windshield I have been getting between 34 mpg and 37 mpg. The lower mpg has been since November. I replaced the camshaft and lifters, and got it back on the road the end of November. It has been rough off idle since then, and I just determined it had a bad connection the right plug wire. That is fixed now and it runs much better. I have a feeling the fuel mileage will go back up as well. BTW I figure mileage based on GPS corrected miles.
On my 1998 BMW R1200C with Champion Daytona sidecar, I get about 30 mpg. Sometimes less, sometimes more but usually right around 30 mpg.
I have to say, I have not been thrilled with the gas mileage I've got with the R90/6. As a solo, the BEST I ever got was 37 mpg. I always thought, as a solo, it should have got around 50 mpg. Never saw anything close to that.
A pal of mine is selling his “custom” Valk... could be fun with an equally customized rig?? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Honda-Valkyrie/284142907676
I walked through the AHRMA pits at the last Barber Vintage Days and took an incomplete survey of sidecar drivers chosen amount of trail reduction. Now this was on road-race sidecars and should not be applied to street stuff where the rules are different. Chosen trail amounts varied from 1 inch down to 0. The 0 was on a Moto Guzzi rig piloted and monkeyed by a husband and wife team. He said I want it to steer easily and I'm never going to relax out there any way. Most chose 5/8 or 3/4 of an inch of trail.
