After having a few trailside flats on my KLR, and no center stand I decided I needed a better solution. Wrestling with my bike alone and trying to get the tire off is a pain so I decided to start making some small easy to carry jacks so I could change my tube or oil and adjust my chain. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I have found them very handy in changing a tire or lubing a chain while out on the trail or at home when I dont want to pull out the big jack or if youre riding alone. <o></o> I have made them so they are adjustable from around 8 to 16 in length, but they can be made to any length depending upon what your needs are. I have made them all from steel for durability. However I can also make an aluminum version if someone wants to shave a few ounces. <o></o> If anyone has any interest please let me know, or if you would like to see some additional pictures I can post them. Thank you, Just an update, The jacks are $30 for the Aluminum version shipped to you home. I decided to follow the advise of some of the folks in this thread and I started the patent process as well so now I can say Patent Pending too. Thank you for your continued interest, Brian Update 1/20/11: Still making them for those that are interested. PM me or drop me an e-mail and I can det you the ordering info.
