Some of you have PM'd me asking me to post pics of the XMoto low seat on the XChallenge. It's basically identical to the XChallenge low seat, except for the seat color. I figured no point in having 2 seats the same, plus the dark seat will show less dirt. With my 30" inseam, I'm on tippy toes with the stock seat and I'm flat footing it with the low seat. I use the low seat for off roading. Oh, and the low seat is waaaay more comfortable than the stock seat. Now, I'm waiting on the Renazco suede seat. Now, where's is my meter stick? never mind, this piece of lumber will show the difference in seat heights.
Note the Touratech rack with the JC Whitney removable top case plate, and reloacted turn turn signals and additional Brake! LED strobing brake / running light.
Turn signals mounted higher, and I could not resist installing the X shaped Brake! LED unit from the KLR. Topcase for my daily commute on the X.
very very nice! How much was the low seat? I have basically the same problem, 30" inseam and I am tip toe-ing at stoplights.
I got mine from my dealer with a discount for $200. It's a much better seat than the stock height seat.. highly recommended. Order it from Hammersley's and you get a discount off list.
What do you mean? is the snow melted up where you are yet?? I also got the BMW/Touratech chain guard and front sprocket cover.. but didn't install them.. and probably won't.. time to post them in the Flea market.
Cool! Thanks for posting the pictures. I also got the JC Whitney trunk for my daily commute (got the idea from you). It works great, so I can put my gloves and helmet in there. I am also 30 inseam, and the bike is too tall. I'm thinking about buying the low seat, but maybe I'll just get the Renzaco. I'll be interested to see your Renazco seat and your comments about how comfortable it is in comparison to the low seat. Thanks
We did the Nipissing trail last weekend. Where were you? You have to start hanging out in the CANADA forum instead of the farkle forum...
James says his seat won't be as low as the low seat, because he needs to shape the seat different to make it comfortable. We'll see.
Yes, you can mount the passenger pegs from the X Country on the X Challenge, they are sold as a kit for about $300. Mileaage: 4 liter per 100 km, so that's about 62 miles to the gallon. I have the Max Kool tank on order, which will add another 7 liters. I also ordered a set of Excel wheels from Woody's Wheel Works so I can mount knobbies on them. Hey Rob: We'll ride together soon
Thanks for sharing GB, very nice rig. I just picked up my new X Challenge today. It's a heck of a change from other bikes I've owned over the years. It's keeping the R1200GSA company and will be seeing some Colorado and Utah dirt soon.
I have the Low seat fitted to my XC and at 5'10" makes a world of difference. I do like the black though.
Is the XMoto low seat lower than the Xchallenge low seat? BMW specs list the Xchallenge low seat at 930mm and the Xmoto at 860-880mm. Maybe it is just the subframe that is different. I do like the black seat, but the blue one is still nice. Are you selling the black one yet GB?
No exactly the same, only color differs. Subframe is the same. Try wheel size and suspension travel ...
