It's possible, you just have to create it. I folllowed the instructions in the Galileo manual and created offline topo maps for the MABDR. Later I discovered Locus can do effectively the same thing right from the app.

Google limits the number of waypoints you can use when plotting routes. No longer very practical.

I use Furkot for planning. I use a laptop / desktop for the screen real estate and export the track. There is a short learning curve but has some useful features including user collaboration, distance / speed calculators for lodging, fuel, food recommendations and search > filters for route options & destinations.

Furkot just announced compatibility with Gurumaps last week ... https://twitter.com/furkot/status/1091431799568228352/photo/1

Gurumaps is also currently on sale through Feb 5 for 50% off @ $2 ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bodunov.GalileoPro

Ok, stupid question but I want to make sure I dont missunderstand.

In this case, what is the definition of Waypoints in Google myMaps ?

If i make a route by following a road from point A to B. Is that two waypoints ?

They waypoints are any stopping points on the map. Because Google routes automatically, you may have to drag a route to another road resulting in an additional marker. Each one of these markers constitutes a waypoint.

Its very easy for a simple route to require several waypoints. Google has reduced the usable limit making their system impractical for longer / more detailed planning.

I tried around some and can't wrap my head around it.

I places 9 "A to B". So It should have 18 waypoints, 9 A's and 9 B's. Then MyMaps said stop, I could add any route, marker or anything.... fine...
But If i removed one "A to B" so I only had 8, then I could add many markers (didnt reach any limit). And I could also then "re add" the 9th "A to B"....

I then tryed to "add a destination" within a "A to B" so it's a "A to J" (9 sections) that was no problem..... Adn I tried for Another "A to B"... No problem to add up to 9 sections...

So It seems that I can only have 9 "routes"/ "Start to Finish" and within this I can have up to 9 sections.

I've been using Guru Maps (Galileo) on and off for quite some time. They were moving rather slowly in their development over the past five years but are now prooving to be a very rhobust Navigation App. I've always liked their underlying map architecture and their Map Downloading is one of the best. With the recent Furkot.com Export feature for Guru Maps, I'm compelled to use Guru Maps Pro more often.

I’m only able to download the”vector map” as a offline map. Is there a way to download the other maps offline ?

    Cheers

Navigate to this site, goto User Manuals, pick you OS and you will find many answers to your questions. I have been using Guru for a while now and just recently went through the manual. I now know how to do some things I didn't.

If you go to the manual as recommended, you will find links to "ready to download" maps. These may or may not be what you are looking for. Once downloaded these maps can be used offline.

That section under "Additional Source" is for online maps.

Making your own offline maps isn't difficult. Just download MOBAC, pick the area you want, map type, and save in the Guru/Galileo format.
