The direction helps me in some scenarios but i agree you can just ignore it and treat it as a line.
I put guru maps front and center on my new Chinese nav. Its pretty cool.
will that setup do offline nav, not just follow a track?
Guru Maps will navigate roads offline. When you download a map you have the option of also downloading the navigation data.
Is that true on the Android version? I don't remember seeing that option, and offline routing doesn't work currently.
Works on my DuraForce Pro.
Turn-by-turn directions works fine on my iPhone's and iPad offline around the world. But as noted above, you need to download the Navigation data with the Maps.
I use this this all over the world and it never stops amazing me for a 10 dollar one time fee. Works perfect every time and its my only GPS. It has its limits as it only an app but it does everything I could ask for. Key is make your routes on Google Earth and email them to yourself, open with the app and follow the line!
Key for me is to make my Trip Plans in Furkot.com and then select the Export (High-res Tracks/Waypoints) to Guru Maps option. In doing so, Stop/Skipped-stops Icons are mapped to Guru's Icons.
I don't get offline routing to work either. I have the free version, do you need Guru pro for offline routing?
Mine works in the free version.
Do you have Settings/Map Source-> Vector Map
Settings/Advanced/Navigation/NavigationMode/Offline & your language ticked ?
It will then download offline navigation settings with map updates.
I did all of the above except the additional offline nav download. It works now, thanks a bunch!
