Garmin has announced the GPSMAP 276Cx, an upgraded reinvention of the classic 276C. Product page: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/into-sports/handheld/gpsmap-276cx/prod539722.html Press release: http://newsroom.garmin.com/press-re...introducing-gpsmap-276cx-versatile-all-terrai Blog post: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/featured-2/announcement-gpsmap-276cx/ Sunlight viewable 5" 800x480 screen GPS, GLONASS and Hotfix Barometric altimeter and 3-axis compass Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ANT+ Dual power option: Li-Ion or 3 AA Battery life (Li-Ion/AA): 16/8 hrs Supports "Bluetooth headsets" (maybe works with Sena?) IPX7 water rating, but no mention of MIL-STD-810 shock and vibe External power contacts and various powered mounts (includes powered AMPS mount) $799.99 No mention of a touchscreen in the press release or specs. Touchscreen and buttons would have been nice because sometimes one or the other is easier to use for a particular task. Also, a wired or wireless accessory remote control would have been awesome, but it doesn't seem like there is one. $800 is really steep. It's also pretty thick (1.7" deep) and heavy (15.9 oz with the lithium battery).
