Garmin Basecamp V3.01 Sees Preloaded GPS Maps!

    I have another thread going where I posted to the release of Garmin BaseCamp version 3.01 but I just realized one huge advantage to the new software and thought I should point it out specifically.

    - Added the ability to use BaseCamp with the pre-installed maps on a connected device or pre-programmed SD card.

    This means that buying a gps which comes with preloaded maps like the T model Oregons no longer has the big drawback of not being able to use the maps on a computer to plan your trip.

    So all you people who'd like to buy an Oregon T model with Topo maps pre-installed, sounds like it's not such a bad idea any more...

    I have not seen this in action so I don't know if it's slow, or flawed, but it is a step in the right direction for Garmin, imho.
