My 376c took a hit with the audio jack plugged in - internal jack knocked loose - anyone know an outfit that will work on these units? Garmin has a flat fee of $170 - more than it and I need.
There's a thread around here about replacing the internal clock battery on the 276/376/478 which involves taking one apart. The directions are pretty good explaining everything. My 376 took a hit awhile back during a crash and slightly bent in the audio port too, to the point I couldn't plug in an audio plug. Taking it apart, I was actually able to re-position it and make it work again. Its not perfect, but it works. With it apart, I saw it really wouldn't be that bad replacing it though either. You probably could get any electrical guru to fix it for you.
Perfect, found link on battery replacement, that should help. Also, website of Sharcnet repair service, but they are backed up and not taking units for repair until inventory drops. http://www.sharc.net/gps_repair.htm Thanks.
In having a problem with my GPSMap 60CSx Garmin told me they no longer support that model. Not wanting to just throw it away I searched for someone to repair it and found Chris Short in Minnesota doing some level of repair. I sent him the unit he found the problem, made the repair and shipped back...all in a period of 8 days. If you need help contact : Chris Short, President Short Tronics, INC.(Formerly PalmDr) Phone: 612/326-4364 but email is preferred Chris Short" <repairs@palmdr.com
