Garmin Overlander vs 276cx

    Hi guys, looking at possibly buying a new GPS. Looked into the phone options and tried Locus with a rugged tablet and I think I will stick with Garmin (currently using Montana).

    Does anyone has a full hands on experience with both units?

    I contacted Garmin and the good news is that both units will take the Garmin TOPO maps I purchased (only if they are on the preloaded SDCard! The once that are downloaded are tied and activated to the specific GPS unit and can be de-activated !!!)

    Overlander - 1 inch bigger screen
    276CX - button for easier control in gloves
    276CX - same cradle as for Montana (no need to modify my nav tower)
    Overlander uses USB charging - not sure how it will last in off road riding
    Overlander - no water rating, dust only rating IP5X vs IPX7 water on the 276cx (no dust on the 276)

    I am leaning towards the 276CX but wanted to get to know your experiences and opinions

    you miiiiight want to watch this review video before you consider garmin's attempt at making a tablet app:

    the 276 is slower, older, missing the touchscreen but it's a more reliable (this is painful to say really) and a better idea than garmins tablet+app attempt with the o'rlander.
