Hi guys, looking at possibly buying a new GPS. Looked into the phone options and tried Locus with a rugged tablet and I think I will stick with Garmin (currently using Montana).

Does anyone has a full hands on experience with both units?

I contacted Garmin and the good news is that both units will take the Garmin TOPO maps I purchased (only if they are on the preloaded SDCard! The once that are downloaded are tied and activated to the specific GPS unit and can be de-activated !!!)

Overlander - 1 inch bigger screen
276CX - button for easier control in gloves
276CX - same cradle as for Montana (no need to modify my nav tower)
Overlander uses USB charging - not sure how it will last in off road riding
Overlander - no water rating, dust only rating IP5X vs IPX7 water on the 276cx (no dust on the 276)

I am leaning towards the 276CX but wanted to get to know your experiences and opinions

    Thank you

you miiiiight want to watch this review video before you consider garmin's attempt at making a tablet app:

the 276 is slower, older, missing the touchscreen but it's a more reliable (this is painful to say really) and a better idea than garmins tablet+app attempt with the o'rlander.
