I knew KTM bought controlling interest in Gas Gas last year but I was surprised to see a 2020 250 TXT already available at a local KTM (Kawsaski & Yamaha) dealer a couple of weeks ago. They told me they have 280 & 300's coming in soon too.
The Gas Gas map shows only 3 dealers in Canada so far, all in western Canada, but (apparently) lots of dealers in the States and Europe.

There is a Husky dealer in Oregon that has a TXT250 on the lot, and 125, 280, and 300s inbound.

Carl's Cycle Sales in Boise has sold at least 6 Gas Gas Trials bikes already! We're hoping to get these owners out riding at our club or local areas so they will stick with it and learn to ride sections rather than freeride around by themselves, get bored and let it sit/sell.

The OP's GPS coordinates and Google'ing "Spunky's" puts this in Duncan/Parksville on Vancouver Island, B.C.

Yes they are in Canada, and the USA.
Husqvarna Canada (and therefore BlackFoot Direct in Calgary) is handling the importing for us Canucks, while KTM is handling importing in the Land of the Free.

A few dealers have been approached in eastern Canada, but none that dare tie themselves to the behind the scenes sales practices of the Orange Empire.

I know of one multi-line dealer in Ontario that is considering it, and another two more that I suspect may be.

The days of GasGas being sold out of old school brick and mortar trials shops and specialty offroad shops is gone.
They'll be in the glass and stainless steel buildings now.
It'll be interesting to see if it is good for the sport of trials or not, I guess at the end of the day the more seatless bikes in the world the better we all are. :dunno

I would love to see them bring in a Montesa 301 RR at Carl's but I bet that will only happen if someone puts a down payment on one... Wish it could be me... But at least I have my 300 RR

I have a 2013 TXT Pro 125. It's my first bike, and I feel comfortable with it. If I'd upgrade Today, my first choice will be a new 250.

However, the only thing would make me think it twice is the new dealer network. From what I have seen so far, none of the KTM dealers have a background or experience with Trials. It would be nice work with somebody that knows what a Trials bike is, and able to support you setting up the bike. If not, I'd rather to look into another direction.

Interested to hear about the experience from another people with the 2020 model.

It is not unlike Montesa/Honda. The Honda dealers have no clue what they are selling (for the most part).

What he sees is no sound in a stadium type setting. Good luck with that.:imaposer:1drink:D

Huh. The ones I deal with know exactly what a Montesa is. Weird.

Same with my local Honda shop. The shop's head mechanic rides D4 Trials on a Montesa 4RT.... Strange!

Can I ask you what Honda dealer would you recommend?

I'd be shocked if the Honda dealers around here knew what a trials bike was...
I can only recall seeing one modern Montesa in the wild with my own eyes, and two others at a Honda sponsored riding school.
Never seen one in person in competition.

Odd* how brands seem so segregated by region.

*not really odd. I guess it all had to do with the local dealers and what most club riders are on.

Interesting. I asked them once about tuning up my bike and they told me that they don't work very much on trials. Maybe they weren't interested working in the GasGas.
