After removing most of the baffles from the muffler, replacing the stock air filter with a foam Unifilter, and increasing the main jet size from 98 to 108, the average gas mileage on my 200cc Lifan went up to 80 where I had expected it to go down. My little old Trail 90 with a Lifan 140cc engine is running 95 to 105 mpg. I use the cheapest regular gas I can find.

With cases, 63 - 65 mpg, non freeway, county highways and country roads. Very consistent.:clap
And with 2200 miles on it, it's barley broken in.

    Ducati ST3: 40mpg if I behave myself. :D

Fortunately it has a 5.5 gallon tank. Think I'll be looking for something a bit more fuel efficient for my next bike though.:lol3

Best on recent ride through France measured by tank refill, 71.2 Imp mpg - 59.3 US mpg; worst (motorway cruising at 80mph into headwind) 65.5 Imp mpg, 54.6US mpg.

A small improvement over the previous long ride to Italy; no side cases, engine loosened up...

In 1900 miles on my DRZ I'm averaging 47MPG. A little bit low, but I'm on 14/44 gearing with Dunlop D606 front and rear tires, along with my commute speed being 75-80MPH.

not actually that low...especially for those speeds.

when reading all these "I get 4,000 mpg on DRZ" posts on various forums, you have to take into account a lot of things. many of them are SMs to start off with. rider weight also makes a huge difference. tires make a huge difference. how much you like to twist the throttle makes a ginormous difference. terrain makes a big difference...people who live in indiana are going to get better MPG than people who live in the mountains. etc. etc.

imho, 47mpg with 606s at 75mph is good for a DRZ.

    Reliable average ~ 50 mpg
    Worst ~ 36 mpg
Best ~ 88 mpg (riding into a big low pressure front)

Adding all of the touring swag does not seem to have an effect.

2003 BMW F650GS single. A short woman about 155 lbs, little heavy on the throttle side an average 75-95mph on the hwy. It seems like an average gas mileage is 76-79 for a gal.

    1. Main road/Highways = 52 MPG
    2. Secondary/country road/city mix = 45 MPG
    3. *City riding, stop&go = 40 MPG
