Stock '02 KTM 640 Adventure, Touratech bags and rear rack roll. Luggage weighs 100 lbs. I weigh 150. 16./42 gearing
Cut a bigger hole in the top of the airbox, threw the snorkel away. Installed a KTM S-pipe and KTM SCX competition muffler to eliminate my pre muffler and stock Supertrapp exhaust. Stock jetting.
48 mpg without bags or luggage, 46mpg with bags. Way more power.
1981 Honda GL500 56mpg Highway and Commuting. Full fairing and luggage, Solo rider.
1980 Honda CM400T : 75mpg Commuting, 68mpg highway. Solo rider, windscreen, no luggage.

I can ride all day and not worry about fuel
Hurts the wallet when I do fill it @ $ 3.15 a gallon

Yamaha 1995 XT600E 50-55mpg stock intake, supertrapp exhaust
Kawasaki 1984 GPz750 50 mpg
38K miles on 04 R1150 GS Adventure, Valves just done, new oil, 47 mpg. Average highway loaded speed was about 85 mph. Happy with that!
Have to calculate the 640 it just seems to go and go!
1989 Yamaha Venture Royal sucks it down and only gets about 30 mpg. But will go 50 mph off the light and scrape the pegs making eyebrows raise high!
My new DL1000 in break-in mode...no really...I'm being good....really....40.5 mpg...dead stock...very first tank.
Interesting - I just completed the UT 1088 and averaged about 43mpg for the ride with speeds normally in the 80's, some into the 90's, and obviously in the 50's and 60's when around towns.
BUT, I also just completed a neat 'No Plan' ride with a group of friends and one day we went about 175mi in CO and wound our way around the mountains and valleys at speeds in the 50's and 60's for the day - a whopping 55mpg was realized! Never before, and perhaps never again, but with an Adv tank on the bike its nice to know I can get 400+mi if I really need to.
1989 Honda Transalp at 15,200 miles
Gets average of 60 mpg, worst yet was about 52 mpg spread out over a tank. Typically averaged on my commute, which mixes some highway, some city traffic.
Edit: Just took a highway trip through NC mountains. Averaged 65 mpg at 70-75 mph. One tank takes me about 200 miles with some left over, though I usually fill every 150 b/c I need to stretch the legs.
02 1150gs w/ 29kmi religious maint. 40-50+ I have found that the sweet spot is around 85mph indicated. It is getting better mileage than when I bought it and is making slightly more power. I think the prev owners mustv'e babied it as I dont think it was fully broken in at 19k. I ride it like I stole it.
'04 1150 GS, stock with Tourances, solo, system cases & tank bag
BEFORE CHANGING SEEDO HUB*: 39-50 mpg
AFTER CHANGING SPEEDO HUB:
1) generally 36-45 mpg
2) recent trip of 1000 miles in TN &VA, 1/2 back roads and 1/2 interstate
3) on a trip up interstate covered 166 miles at relatively steady 75 mph
got 48.23 mpg
* if you don't change stock speedo hub your speed is about 10% generous and the odometer also overstates milage, but to lesser degree.
02 Suzuki Bandit. Depending on the wrist, I mean, riding conditions 35 to 45.
50 to 56 usually 53 and 54 with change
I don't know.......I fill it when it's empty?
Man I've got to try someone elses Trans Alp. I have never gotten better than 45 mpg, and average 39-42 for most of my riding.. Stock except the PO put in a Dynojet 1 kit, that I've undone except for drilling the slide, and a staintune exhaust.
Hit reserve at 140miles, religiously.
F 650 GS - last tank 62.7
2001 k1200rs = 32 to 40 mpg
