    Day 21.

This has been THE trip. It has gone from beyond awful to beyond words for the level of fun and excitement. There is really no good way to describe this trip in short. The best I can do is written here.

Now this is OR and lumber is king. Some more of the destruction of lumber on the landscape.

These trees are by far the tallest and biggest I have ever seen. Without a human in the pic you can not tell just how big they are. Some are in the 200-300 range easy. Just huge.

Now I said some are pretty big and that there were a few detours. Here is one we could not get around. A 4-5 foot thick tree that was over 200 feet long. Time to re-route.

    Day 21.

So we back up and have to hit a road to make it around. This road was fun. It was nice black top and our knobbies were not so knobby any more. On a full blown super motard these would be AWESOME. The road was nothing but nice tite twisties back and forth for about 10 miles. You could hammer on them back and forth almost to the pegs. It was a nice change of pace and a good time. Me and Todd were just blasting away. Life is good!!! :D

Did I mention there were a few detours? There was no way around this one. It had been there for some time as the rest of that trail was over grown too. This was pretty common in this part of the TAT.

As I loaded these pics I just remembered just how much damage Todd's bike took. Da y after day something would break or just fall off Todd's bike. By the end he only had like one turn signal and lost several pounds of gear and bike parts.

All good things must come to an end. This trip is no different. We had to re-route several times due to poorly routed maps for OR. We finally come down out of the mountain trails and it is starting to get cool. We have to hit some slab to make it to Port Orford and here we come. This is the final stretch. Mater of fact is gets down right cold by the water.

So we get to the ocean but are on some dock or harbor thing. I tell Todd we need to find the beach. He says well do you really need to actually ride on the beach? I tell him not riding on the beach is not an option. I came 5,000 miles of trail and a year of planning. My ride is not done till my bike touches the ocean.:D Ok fair enough he says. We are going to find that beach we can ride on.

It has been a LONNNNNG ride and I made it. Not sure if i should be happy or what but the TAT for me is over. Now all I have is pics and memories of the great trails and awesome people I have met along the way. This is a trip that for most people is a once in a lifetime type trip. It is a trip that will be remembered forever as some just pure misery and the best times in my life. All together it is the TAT and it was AWESOME!!!

You can not put me on a beach with all that sand and not expect me to play some though. :D
