So it is getting later and we are starving. We ask some guy where a good place to eat is and he tells us there is one place for us. The crazy Norwegian's. Sound perfect for us. Do they serve beer??? Fish and chips!

Time for our victory meals and cheers to us. We have out fish and chips. They are great and I think TAT ers should all stop by. A victory toast to the trip. As I said before all good things have to end and this is the end. Me and Todd say our good byes then we hit the road in different ways. This is the last time I see Todd on this trip but it will not be the last time.:D

My name is Ghilly and this is my story. But its not the end. There was two weeks after the end of the trip before I traveled home. More to come and I am still uploading the rest of my videos.:D

It's a small world, we ended up there also after we asked the kid at the gas station where to eat. He said all the locals eat there. We feasted and had some really good Shakes there.

That was the new 606 from only a few days prior at Trinidad. It is smoked and I was not really all that happy with it. It did wear pretty good but I did not have as much traction as my other tire. Overall though it was still a good tire for the TAT.

So my time on the TAT is done and it is time to finish the plan. I still need to get me and my bike home. But not yet. A buddy of mine lives a few hours from Port orford so I head his way. I did some driving up the coastal highway and it is pretty neat but cold on a bike. I am heading to Roseburg and it will be time to change gears. So there i go.

So once at Roseburg I never got on my bike again. I was there a few weeks but never touched it again. It was not because I did not want to so much but I will get into that more later.

So I show up and the day is pretty much done so pizza and some beers are in order. We do our BSing and off to bed. In the morning we go explore the area of Roseburg. This is a lumber based town and is pretty dead now. There is some neat stuff to see and some blocks of old growth forest too.

Imagine cutting this big ass tree down with an axe. I went to a cool museum in Roseburg and a good portion of it was rail road and lumber stuff.

Roseburg and Oregon in general has some sweet woods and some nice rivers. I did some fun day hikes and put down some miles. I think this pic is a 14 mile hike I went on this day. We did a little river scouting as well. there is some nice class 3, 4, and 5 here.

Wow! :D Thanks for taking all the pictures along the way and taking the time to upload everything and tell your story. I was on the edge of my seat more than once.

Why on earth is this thread still in "trip planning"? Should be in ride reports so more people would see it.

You know that is a pretty good question. I was doing a pretty in depth write up on my bike and trip prep and just kept on going as I went. It just kind of stayed here and I have no idea how to move it. So what parts did you like or dislike? What were the excited parts for you? I am getting ready to start my next trip thread for 2010. This year I will have much better gear, a better camera and a good helmet cam.

At the bottom of each forum on the right is a list of the forum moderators. Just PM one of them and ask them to move it. They can also rename it if you want.

When you were off the TAT and low on gas, wondering if the difficult trail you were on was going to dead end and force you to backtrack, probably using up all your fuel and forcing you to camp in the middle of nowhere without camping equipment and then hike for miles in search of fuel. I could literally feel your stress in my stomach while reading.

Coming around the corner and seeing that your partner on the KTM had ridden off the trail and probably injured himself or worse. And the sheriff that gave you a hard time while trying to get your partner into an ambulance! :huh

Coming down Tomichi Pass with altitude sickness and a strangled bike. (I'm going west -> east in August, and I wonder if I'll be able to make it up?!)

The 3' deep tiger trap in the sage brush! (if you know the GPS coodinates of that hazard, I'd be interested so I can put a note on my TAT tracks.)

It's always the difficult / dangerous stuff that makes the trip worthwile, I guess. :D

What makes your report really stand out is the number of pictures. I know it takes a lot of extra time to take all those shots.
