    Hi @OlafofOregon
I try to mount the GL RTW with the quick release panniers on the new version of the Givi racks.
The new on the Givi racks is that they have one “neutral” frame where you could add the mounts for Monokey or Cam-Side (Trekker Outback).

Having mounted the RTW on the Quick release plates I notice that one nut on the top is getting in contact with the Givi frame. I tried a shorter screw but it’s the nut.

Do I need to use the screw or are 3 screws on the top enough?
My other solution would be to put a washer between the upper holder and the plate to extend the space.

    What’s your opinion?

Once completed I’ll post pictures how to mount on the KTM 790 Adv R.

Dang, I guess we need to see the new design. Have you tried reversing the bolt through the framesheet and Pannier? I’m thinking the bolt head is lower profile than than the nut, which can go inside.

Will someone give me the equivalent saddle depth measurement on the Great Basin por favor? I’m trying to see if it will work for my intended purpose before pulling the trigger. Thank you!

Yes reversing works. The shorter screw (16mm) has an even lower profile.
I’ll post more details in the coming days. I’m still perfecting the setup.

    New design:

Also the holes of the new Givi frame design can get in the way.

Hopefully the hook and latch positions can be adjusted to work around the holes, bends, etc. Thank you very much for sharing the info.

Do you switch back and forth between soft luggage and the Givi hard cases? Mostly wondering, because some other racks avoid these complications.

But the feedback is super helpful, so we can help other customers solve new issues.

Remember to use blue thread lock when everything is assembled and adjusted.

Can we send you a t-shirt as a thanks for the info and help?

    Happy New Year!

It does fit around the holes, but you don’t have much space. I’ll share pictures the next days.

So far I don’t have Givi panniers. I had the V35 in the past.
I choose the Givi racks because I had good previous experiences. Also they are affordable in Europe (148€), versatile, detachable and have a low and narrow fit on the 790 Adv.

Now with their new idea to make a “basic rack” where you can buy kits to fit either the MonoKey or the Camside (Trekker Outback) it makes things easier for their customers buy harder for anyone else.
I’m very sure that this is the way for all future Givi racks.

Overall I’m happy with the racks and as I share my knowledge it will be a solvable solution to everyone who wants to go with the new Givi racks.

But I agree, there are racks out there, that fit the GL pannier racks easier.

Are you able to position the locking clasp, so the bend in the top middle does not interfere?

Thank you and I had seen those top center measurements on the website.
It is for the BMW GS and here is what I'm trying to accomplish: https://advrider.com/f/threads/soft-luggage-no-rack.1283659/#post-39076765
I am trying to make sure that I will still have adequate room to sit/move on the seat with the bag in place, and ideally without having to move the tail bag.
    I really appreciate the help.

The Great Basin Saddlebag is designed to occupy the space a passenger would, so it should mount in front your tail bag and fit on the pillion seat.
