Old, but thought I'd bump with my info. From a Kappa topbox:
Key # is 033
Cut code would be 02110
Not quite sure how to decode the 3 digit number on my lock? Can anyone tell me what the cuts/depths are for #305?
Not a fan of the fathead Givi/Kappa keys. My key # is 280. Any idea what aftermarket flat head blank that could be duplicated on?
You can use a VW gas cap key Ilco X132 or Ilco X226 / HYD12
Just thought I'd add to this post - my old E45 box uses the same key as that.
Today my small local key bar guy was able to cut me two spares, like so...
It's a JMA blank, number HAF2D, and he lengthened the top/bottom shanks by about 5mm or so.
Dirt cheap, easily available, saves me the cost and hassle of replacing the lockset.
I've just bought a bike with a kappa case with no key as the old owner lost it. The code qhich appears at the lock is 184. Can anyone help me on getting the cut code??? Thanks in advance!!!
Yea, I'll add to this thread if anyone is still watching it... I have a set of Givi side cases, each with '264' stamped on the lock. No key and bought used from dealership who are no help in tracking down PO. Any help appreciated.
Again, if anyone is still watching, I've got a pic of my 199 key here:
Just lost this key...hoping someone has a spare? Would a locksmith be able to make this key from the pic?
Yes, I finally found a locksmith who picked one of the side case locks (not easily) and managed to find the right blank to make a key. The fit is a little off but it does get them open. Also allows me the chance to replace all three barrels with a new set if I go that route. Good luck. It took me a couple of locksmiths before success.
Help!! I broke my original and spare key for my Givi Topbox. Twisted Throttle does not have the tumbler and keys for this topbox. Any ideas?
oh so close, I have 148
Hahaha, that is close!!!
I think I'll just have to get a new case. Shame cause the one I have is in good condition.
Just drill it out and put in a new cylinder. No need to throw away a good case.
I was able to get the cylinder out but I cannot find a replacement. Twisted Throttle informed me the case is no longer available and to try to get it from Italy.
The cylinder is intact, just trying to get the key made but none of the locksmiths I've gone to can make the key without an original.
EDIT: sorry, missed the bit about the cylinder being OK. I wonder what my number is...I replaced my lock with a Honda to match my ignition.
go straight to Givi. http://www.giviusa.com
I replaced mine through them when I needed to replace my latch assy after a wreck. I may have a spare cylinder w key i’ll look when I get home
http://www.giviusa.com/givi-products/spare-parts/case-components A new cyl and 2 keys is $11.
For the older Givi '4' digit keys, the Ilco 1527 key blank is a reasonably good fit. As Grimly noted about the AJM HAF 2D blank the ILCO 1527 is not a perfect fit but turns ok. Most lock smiths will have the ILCO blank.
I have a giving monokey maxia 52l top case, just got a spare key made, it's an ilico x270. Here's a pic of my 362
Hope that helps

Do you have a usable Silca or JMA key blank for the 4-digit series such as code # 2110?
