On the subject of batteries, my cheap battery crapped out at just over a year stranding me. I was going to pony the extra 75 bucks for a harley Davidson lithium ion but it wasn't in stock for my year. It seems worth it to get a more expensive battery in the long run, I'm realizing after buying yearly cheap batteries

Don't think I ever will go for a Li-Ion again, the way it crapped out on me without warning and being so empty it couldn't even light up a test-lamp just was not acceptable.
When a lead battery go bad I can get a jump start or roll start it...

I have had 3 lead acids die to the point of not taking a jump. I wouldn't trust a cheap brand but a shorai or HD brand li ion with a good warranty.

Anything is possible, but in a lifetime wrenching professional I can berely remember seeing lead batteries go instantly bad to the point of not be able to work good enough to suport the charging system after a jump start.

Sooo, mid season and got aprox 10.000 Km on it since spring.
Working (mostly) good, the front brakes will be changed to a 320mm disc on the right side to fit a 6 piston Buell caliper,
not that the 300mm and 4 piston is bad,
but it overheats on inspired riding down-hill on switchback roads (tailing an M3 chasing a Porsche down to Geiranger comes to mind...)

The karoo Streets are half way gone in the front and some 3mm left in the rear, good grip in the wet and deasent braking on gravel.
The front one show some trapping and is more slugish to turn in now.
I have ordered a Conti RoadAttac2 for the rear for my holliday.

Speaking of Hollyday, I will do four weeks for the first time in my addult life come September so wery exited, open up a bit more of posibilities, we have ben thinking of the French Alps, but now with the extra week maybe even the Pyrinees...

I've got a 6 piston Nissin caliper and 320mm rotor on my project(Sportster street tracker). What are you thinking master cylinder wise? I'm at he point of scrounging a master, and just not entirely sure what size piston to go with.

Oh such amazing roads I been down, this one's an old friend, rode it first in the back seat of daddys old Kadett as a lad back in '75, it was actually the main road down to Stryn then.
Chasing Pia here, couple of weeks ago...

Well the bracket broke in france, luckily i caught it before losing the can.
Come home I will make a new one with an extension up to the luggage plate, that should do it.
