Just checked that Northernmost route using Terrain View. It looks like fun. Might have to look into riding it myself in July.

I have spent some time up there on Trail Creek and Grave Creek. Very nice area to get away from the crowds.
The road is pretty tame though, some of my Montana buds do it on Harleys.

click on the sig '18 Days on a Versys" if you want to see a bunch of pics from up there.

Wow - that pic of the Polebridge Merchantile brings back some memories from multiple backpacking trips to Glacier! Our classic was when my wife and I had been 12 days in the backcountry, walked into the store and putting a 1/2 gallon of milk, and a package of Oreos on the counter. The clerk simply smiled and said "you've had it with freeze dried huh?"

Back to the original poster's OLD question - the road up the west side of the park would be nice on a bike.

siyeh: What are you doing to me? Now I have to ride that way out of Polebridge and thanks to your write up, continue on to The Dirty Shame Saloon. At least that's still going the right direction.

(Roy Scheider voice) "You're gonna need a bigger tank."

Edit: Sweet! The Yaak River Mercantile sells gas.
