I’m just trying to not hang onto things, and there’s parts people can use

I'm originally from new England. You guys aren't kidding. Sometimes the Walmart turns into a zoo before a storm. You know, I've been in the north east, mid west, south east and south west. So far, cali weather can't be beat. You know, its colder outside in Chicago than it is in my freezer right now.

Has someone relocated their rear turn signals on 1200L? It would seem to get in the way of saddlebags when mounted.

Yes, mine started life as a 1200L.

Lots of aftermarket and OEM solutions to do that. We went with an OEM kit that included a new license plate bracket (like the link Sarah posted).

That's a sweet bike Kev. Wish I could find a similar solution to mount to my FLHP radio rack.

You mean a topcase mount? I went with an HB Orbit case and mount.

just the actual luggage rack. Been looking at a lot of ADV racks like this from Givi
    [IMG]
    and this from Harley
    [IMG]
Trying to think what would mount easy to the rack and look good.

So you're not looking to mount a case, just make the rack more usable?

The rack on my XL has a docking plate for HB Junior topcases.

Exactly. Wanna support a larger duffle with easy attach for rok straps.

Mine is exactly similar to your bike Kevin. Love the white. I would like to retain the upright license plate though.

    Thx me too lol.

I'm sure there are other options available, I just liked the cleanliness of this kit.

Yeah mine started as an L but I added the tach, R bars, taller front and rear suspensions, dual disks etc so it's basically a 1200R spec now.

Buy the tour pack luggage rack (whichever one is the best looking for ya) drill some holes and mount it to that plate. That's basically what I did on my Roadster, although I had to build a bracket that was wide enough for the tour pack rack and boltable to the detachable luggage rack. You can come up with a nice looking set up. IMG_3240.JPG

Love your bike. I've been thinking about adding the 4 gallon tank as well, not sure I love the lines as much as the peanut(walnut?) Tank tho. I wish I had the skills to just split the peanut tank and add in metal to give it another gallon and a half or so capacity.

anyone use the Custom Dynamics Gen2-sshd turn signal stabilizer on a 99-03 sportster?

    https://www.customdynamics.com/stan...stabilizer-load-equalizer-for-harley-davidson

I've installed LED signals on my bike, the rear using a moonsmc brake/tail combo, and the front using some mini signals from drag specialties.

    https://advrider.com/f/threads/vill...-nice-sportster.1347235/page-39#post-36897172

obviously swapping to LED has given me the "no flash", which i expected, the question is whats the best solution. I'm more than capable of swapping in a couple resistors, but not a fan of the heat generated by resistors, and if I'm sticking em in the air to breathe, then theyre visible.

the custom dynamics solution seems very tidy, but reviews don't show much for usage on a sportster. anyone here with first hand experience?

heres the light and signals I'm using.

I'm with ya on that, I thought about doing the same. I switch back and forth with the peanut.
