Just had shoulder replacement surgery and rereading this report and watching the videos has made my forced incarceration tolerable.

Hey Dave, thanks again for sharing all of your adventures with the rest of us. I hope the PT has been good to you and you're back to riding again. The next time you come out west, be sure to swing north into Idaho! Once up north, hit Glacier National Park, the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. You'll be so glad that you did! :{)

Thanks. All of those places were on my original plan, plus the pacific coast, maybe next time.

Oh that's good to hear Dale. You'll truly like the Pacific Coast, it is our family's most favorite place to vacation. Never cared to much for the california coast or the washington coast, however the Oregon coast is so beautiful, clean and smells good! Our favorite place to land is Cape Lookout just outside of Tillamook Oregon. We drop the Travel Trailer there and go on daily excursions from there in our Turbo Diesel Excursion. Tillamook has the most delicious cheeses and ice cream, just heavenly! When you tour their dairy/gift shop, they have a huge catwalk and windows where you can tour the entire cheese making process. Also, there are free cheese samples and free ice cream samples...and you can go through the line twice hahah! All up and down the Oregon coast is absolutely beautiful and highly recommended. Enjoy! :{)

feeling antsy. Off the bike for awhile. Just had heart ablation and think I should chill awhile before getting back on two wheels. Decided to reread this report to calm my need to go. I really want another adventure. Maybe the PCH with Montana and Idaho thrown in.

Probably be a few years. Lots of pieces have to fall in place, but I’ll keep that in mind.

Dale, just read and watched your RR. Hope your health and fortunes are good. I am 68 and have an NC700X I like quite well after a seat and bar adjustment. Any mods you did that were useful?
I enjoyed you openness and bit of philosophical observation thrown into the report. So many of us old guys still seek adventure even though time and age are trying to limit us. High school graduation was yesterday wasn’t it? I am in pretty good shape and thinking hard on a TAT trip next year on my DR650S. At least that motivates me to improve my condition physically and it does wonders for mental wellness too.

Thanks... I miss my DR but the NC is a pretty good Swiss Army knife.

    Best mods

Madstad screen (put several ram mounts on that for my electronics)
    Dales rear rack
I put a centech power distribution box in the bottom of the frunk
    Heated grips and bark busters
    Centerstand
    Seat concepts seat cover.
Since my trip I added Cogent suspension front and rear. I had done that on my DR.
Crash bars with highway pegs. I used GIVI but I think others may be better.
