Go …. go now … go with what you have, don't wait for what you want … make it do or do without, but go … "The table for the banquet of life is always set, but so few take their places at it." (National Geographic Photographer whose name I've forgotten)

"I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move."

Hmmm. Great quote. RLS toured France with a donkey named Modestine (Travels With A Donkey). Seems like a sidecar might sometimes be seen as a bit of a donkey.

Donkeys, Burros, and Mules …. the USA couldn't have been settled (conquered?) without them..... The history of the mule in building the USA is fascinating …..

    My Burro story:

In the late 70's while riding the night leg of the Baja 1000 off road race on a 250 Bultaco Pursang, I clipped the hind quarter of one of the 1000's of Burros that roam Baja. I was doing about 60 mph and over the bars I went. When the motor died in the crash, the bikes lights shut off and the little gigging lamp I had mounted on top of my helmet also had broke off. I landed in the pitch black, so black you couldn't see the hand in front of your face. The bike had gone one way and me in other direction. I spent at least 15 minuets on my hands and knees trying to feel for the bike, when finally the next rider behind me came through and with his lights I was able to find my bike and continue on. Never did see that burro after I went flying through the air.

Baja Burros from the same general area I hit that one years ago:

The splash guard is angled about right.
I would have it higher in case the engine started to run a bit rich.
Sometimes the timing gets a bit advanced also.
    Then the backfiring begins.

That must be an interesting life............at least for the driver.

Notice the driver had no whip, so I might guess the term ''beat the shit out of ...'' shouldn't be applied.
