A few teaser pics from last year!
A few pictures from last years Bishop ride out of Gold Point... This will be one of the weekend rides...
Many splashy crossings.
Hard Luck Mine Castle
Got up on Friday to breakfast at Herb's.
See this link for the April 2013 weekend adventure report...
Herb getting the grill ready for the hungry masses....
Another low calorie dinner for a hungry rider
A shot inside the saloon he opens for us!
Last to leave last year!
SP and family are a tentative right now. If all works out will be trailering in either Wednesday night late or Thursday morning.
I was at last year's event and the earlier one this year. Make plans for this, you'll have a great time. Plenty of noob friendly stuff too if you don't want to go on the death ride
Glad to see you are joining again, we have a few new tracks for October.
thanks mark, i'm pretty sure a lot of noobs will come to this ride once they know there are places for them to ride. the whole area is new to me, so anything is good!
already marked my calendar, just have to get my vacation days approve.
drive up thursday night, ride fri, sat and sun am (wmrs via wyman), the head home in the afternoon. love to participate in the saturday festivity and all breakfast. most likely sleeping in my van, no rv space needed.
jason, that sounds good.
Gold Point definitely has riding for all, it is surrounded by miles upon miles of graded dirt road, mine roads, etc....
It is more noobie rider friendly than any other area I've been. And a must is the Sunday morning ride over to Hard Luck Castle to meet Mr. Johnson and see his version of a modern day castle... Scottie's castle has one pipe organ Mr. Jonson has two.
Looks like it would be a great weekend, unfortunately I won't make it as we usually go to DV for Thanksgiving.
I'm thinking about maybe staying there for a couple of nights prior to DV. I ride a DR350 and carry the missus on the back, so is the riding around there doable two-up?
There are a lot of roads that are two up capable in the area and a lot of old miners cabins and mines to see. Herb can point out the best traveled roads for you to explore.
Thanks jrozar for the info, will plan to stop there, just have to find out how much to camp in a non-rv spot!
Just give Herb a call or email, we generally give him $10 a night when we tent it and that includes the bathrooms and shower.
May have to see about putting in some leave for this one and coming out :) Looks like I see some Beasts in the group so I take it that a larger bike like a Strom wouldn't have any issue out there?
10 bucks for tent camping sounds like a steal to me
'Scribed & seriously lurking.
JBandit - Possible Caravan?
Possibly. If we're setting it up now should be able to arrange it.

10-4. Negotiations underway, I'll know by end of tomorrow.
This looks awesome. Also read your m2w RR. Definitely IN for this.
Tenting it so what nightly temps to expect?
Where is the nearest fuel? Furnace Creek? I saw a number of bikes carrying extra tanks, rotopax etc. (My range is 170-180)
This looks like a blast. Which is better, big bike or little bike?
Appears to be an Any size fits all / run what ya brung sorta deal..
