The blowup one? ... That's a long story best told in the bar at Gold Point but it gets passed to another rider to bring back for the next rally....at the end by the current rider who has it.
Be afraid be very very afraid
This was the last rider who had the GP passenger for the ride.....
Now the story cant be told until we are there....the story of how this passenger became part of the Rally....
ride report here- http://my2wheels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8312
after the ride "Buck" was passed to SuperChris to keep until the next rally...
to say goodbye...
I know that Rebel Bobber is awesome!!! Am I right
High clearance? SuperChris rode a bobber from Ubehebe crater to tea kettle, lippincott rd, saline valley, up steel pass, to crankshaft ally then finished with the group in gold point.
I don't ever recall seeing a Honda Rebel in a picture like this. Good thing we have Super Chris.
Just go to wal Mart or auto zone and grab the 2 outlet weatherproof model.

For the San Diego guys I think I finally got this google maps thing figured out.
Thats it Jeep, Goog Earth uses the .kml file extension. This dropped right in. Well done.
Shooby I also had to convert my route to a track to make it come out right.
So SD guys are meeting up in Ramona for Coffee/Breakfast then rolling out and anyone from the LA area that wants to link up after that can meet us at

There's a 76 Gas Station on the Westbound side of N Indian Canyon Drive. Then we'll leave out again hopefully with more folks. We SHOULD be getting there around 0930 factoring in a 30 minute breakfast stop in Ramona that morning. Basecamp has us getting to gold point at about 6 o'clock that evening. Just depends on how long everyone needs at gas stops.
* - 6? Hopefully Basecamp isn't factoring the multi-bike peloton factor. (Dont want to miss the 1st of Herb's famous dinners )
76 station address should anyone need it. - 19995 N Indian Ave North Palm Spgs, CA
To get there earlier we're either going to have to leave earlier or do more slab. I can cut out the portion of riding though Julian over to the Salton Sea and we can just slab it all the way to the meetup witht he LA folks.
That would be I15>I215>I10
That would cut about 68 miles and 1 hour out of the total time.
Full tank, Clif bar, Pint of Monster & I'm good to go. Was thinking same, I like your route so I'd prefer to leave earlier and save slabbin' for return trip. Let's see if LA peeps (Headstaller, et al) chime in on earlier meet up and get it dialed in.
Looking forward to meeting all y'all from California
After seeing the pics of your F800 getting taken
Out by the SUV, it looks like you will be on the 450.
Speedy recovery my friend.
I was going to bring both
:eek1Damn ! Glad to see you're upright, I hope the neck brace was just precautionary and we'll be riding in Oct.
Be well and best wishes from Goldpoint Rally 2013 - San Diego branch.
Thanks for the recommendation on the power port, I'm on the wally world site right now, actually. And thanks for laying out that route, must of been a lot of work. Looks awesome. I've always wanted to ride the Banner Grade and this is the perfect reason. I will get up at any time, skip breakfast, whatever to make this work.
What a great opportunity if you own a dual sport, or hell, any motorcycle: ride some great paved roads in a desolate (compared to San Diego) part of California on the way out to the desert, and then ride in Death friggen Valley!
Anyone else on the fence about this, you should do it. I've only owned a motorcycle for a year and 90% of my riding is commuting.
Riding off road, I should have a light bike that weighs less than the Strom's corpulent 500 lbs.
Fuck it. Always wanted to see DV so I'm doing it. Great group of folks headed out there. Post up on this thread if you're thinking about it.
