Wow. Love the pictures of the food, the greenery, the small towns, and por supuesto, las hermosas chicas.
I had not really thought too hard of visiting Colombia but you have singlehandedly bumped it up to the top of my list.

He is a funny guy, I remember seeing him a few years ago too. He was parked beside my bike and I asked to take a picture, he says "wait I need to park on the road with my good side and then you can take a picture" lol

Sandra and I went for a ride off/road to Santa Rosa for brunch. Kind of a overcast morning but it did clear up in the afternoon. Being a Sunday there were lots of mtn bikers that you need to keep a eye out for when they are coming downhill.

Time to pack up for a road trip. Hopefully leaving tomorrow morning, Sandra is at the dentist with a sore tooth so I'm hoping all goes well there.

As you can tell I like Klim riding gear.:-)

Got the green light to go in the morning. Sandra needs to see a specialist but does not know when? She has medication now so she should be ok with the sore tooth soon.

I'm looking at Google maps and decided on a route I have not rode before. Leave here to Manizales, Caldas, then up to Neira, Aranzazu, Salamina, Pácora, Aguadas and Sonsón, Antioquia. Google maps is telling 7 1/2 hours for 234km. I really don't think I'll even make it that far with all the stops along the way. The road looks like fun with a lot of mountains.

Too many snakes and creepy crawlers in the jungle for me, I feel safer with grizzly bears and cougars.

***** Not recognizing names of towns - I looked it up. Manizales is about 10 miles North of Mt. Ruiz ( a large active volcano). and the rest of the towns string along North of that for about 50 miles. The road is a minor one, going between small towns and various named peaks of the Andes. Not too much further is Medellin.

I wish you a safe trip meeting friendly people and seeing some great views.

Yes it's a fantastic route to ride and we loved the views and towns along the way. No traffic and being the only tourists in town.

We are in Guatapé now and I have some catching up to do. Long days of riding a lot of broken paved and dirt roads that were a lot of fun for us to ride. I made the mistake of not riding to Sonson because in the morning yesterday it was raining and super cloudy. We took a different route that we ended up turning around because the road was closed due to washout. But we tried anyways but being two up it was hard and I didn't want to wipe out with Sandra on the back. If I was solo it would of been fun.

We ended up yesterday passing through Medellín that I always try to avoid because the traffic is always a nightmare. We stopped for a minute to program my GPS and right away two motorcycles crashed into each other going very fast. I didn't feel right in taking any pictures because they were hurt. We spent the night in Marinilla.

We rented a apartment Guatapé for 2 nights and it was cheaper than a Hotel. We will climb the Piedra del Peñol in the morning. I'm uploading pictures now and hope to share them soon, here are a few from our apartment.
