In the different provinces or departments in Colombia they have different rules, some haves rules for helmets some don't, some you can ride as many people that fit on a bike and some only 2 people. At night you have to wear hi-vis and some you need your plate number on the back of your helmet for both riders. Cities have different rules like for the number on your plate, one day a week you can't ride in the centro part of the city. Some cities you can't ride in parts of the city like in Cartagena, I got stopped before for having a passenger that was not a family member, it can get very confusing for sure.

Yesterday was a fun ride up in the mountains to Pijao about 30km from Armenia, a small farming town at around 5700 feet elevation.

Uploading pictures is so very slow here, the best time is 5am here and it takes hours for not so many pictures. So more pictures later on.

Tomorrow there is running race in Salento, Sandra's daughter is in training to be a professional athlete and dreams of being in the Olympics one day. So she is running tomorrow in the race. She has a wall full of medals.

Sitting here in the dead of winter I'm loving the lush greenery of your shots in the countryside.

That's really cool, looking forward to seeing shots of the race (assuming you head there to watch)?

Last crop of pictures are amazing and I completely agree with @RedDogAlberta, so nice to see the sunshine and lush green. Though we have plenty of green here in the PNW, it's mostly moss this time of year :lol3. Great to see the tropical plants and all the incredibly vibrant colors from the cities/villages you visit.

Keep 'em coming if wifi allows, I know it can be a serious pia when upload speed sucks.

Safe travels! Don't get stranded with a dead battery. The #1 Rated MICRO-START by Antigravity Batteries was the FIRST lithium-ion Mini Jump-Starter on the market. It's compact and good for long trips. Have fun! Be safe!

What a fun day riding today, I went to go meet Richard and the gang in a little town called La Florida. Lots of dirt roads to go explore in that area and some National Parks that I still need to go to. Lots of birds and wildlife in that area. When i was riding today I seen a Hawk sitting on the telephone wire, I stopped to get my camera out to get a picture but before I could get the camera out it dove down pick up some kind of critter and took off. Next time I'll be ready.

Beautiful shots from the ride @Quindio! Great to see some off-road stuff, I'm simply amazed at the greenery and views. Had to look up what was being grown - scallions (or a variation thereof), bet that was neat to smell on the air as you rode by. Wonder if they're grown for local consumption or exported?

Thank you for taking the time to post the pics, looks like a fantastic day to be out on the bikes and exploring. Seeing the sun is great, especially as they're talking snow for us in the valley next week :eek7 :eek7

I'm sure the vegetables are grown for the locals because I see them loading up bundles and putting them on the back of motorcycles. The smell of different odors in the air is wonderful and way better than the smell of exhaust and black smoke in get in the city.

The weather has been very hot the past few weeks and I have got a sunburn on my pale white skin.

After meeting up with the other riders we rode along the Otun river towards Pereira. We seen a bridge that crossed the river and stopped for some pictures hoping to walk across it but it was locked. The owner seen us walked out and opened the lock and invited us to see their private Island that had the river flowing on both sides of the farm. They had everything, fruit, coffee, vegetables, chickens and a fish pond. What a beautiful place and family.
