Good rides Close to Denver Co.

    I am Going to be in denver area (Englewood) the middle of Oct. I'll be visiting family,but I will be able to sneek away for an afternoon of riding.

    Come on folks .

    I was looking at a ride up clear creek canyon to central city/blackhawk.

    then south to idaho springs and back on I-70.

    I used to live in denver 30 yrs ago, clear creek canyon /119 was a pretty
    good twisty road med traffic no development.
    I'm sure that has changed some.

    clear creek is a great one then ya can swing up north thru nederland allenspark...estespark and back either the road to fort collins or lyons park...

    or while in blachawk continue thru central city and take the new connection to i-70 and go thru idaho springs and up toward mount evans/echo lake,,,and backdown toward estespark and back thru bear creek morrison,,,red rocks,,,and on and on,,,,,and the colors are changing tooo...yum,,,yummmmm,,,enjoy,,,woody

    My biggest fear is snow or frezing rain. But I'd like to check out the aspens and other fall color.

    waited for a reply from ya so i took the wife onmy 1100GS along with my kid on his vfr800 and scorched all my old roads bypassing traffic,,,moorison road to bandimere ,,north along the side road along c-470 to alameda west of the hogback and north under 1-70 to old highway 40...blazed west to were ya hav that magnificent view of the mountains ,,,a quick rip onto 1-70 and off at evergreen freeway turn right at el rancho and your swooping down back over i-70 hang a left when ya cross and your back on old rt 40 skiping thru the twisties til ya top floyd hill and down to clear creek back to golden and allthe backroads home,,,,,wished you were there...woody

    Oh I'm gonna ride. I'll just have to deal with the weather.

    Besides , the rides you seem to remember most are'nt always the fine sunny ones. it's the rides that require some hardship.

    Estabon and wayne weber's ride reports are excellent. I'm not a jeep trails
    rider dirt roads are ok.
    Their reports make you want to.
