Photography Note: I recently upgraded DXO PhotoLap to version 4. In doing so, I remain convinced that this is the best application for converting RAW files for a format that will display (e.g, JPEG). PhotoLab has just about all the controls you need for extracting the best picture you can from a RAW file. You may recall that a RAW file contains more picture information than any other format.

A number of features stand out for me. One is the dimension/perspective controls that allow you to correct for lens perspective skew. Another is the extent to which they provide lens correction for your camera/lens. A third is the denoise capabilities that are built in. I have no financial interest in or connection with DXO. That said, below is the picture I was working on. It took all of a minute of my time to get to the final image.

Haunted Hoosac Pilgrimage - Across The Green: For me, the Green River is what divides the Berkshire/Hoosac from the eastern part of the state. I like to cross the Green River on Eunice Williams Drive. It's a short drive.

There happens to be a notable covered bridge near the end of the drive.

This would be the supposedly haunted Eunice Williams bridge.

The bridge was named for the pioneering woman who who was killed by Mohawks while crossing the river at this very spot in 1785.

It is said her ghost cries out at night below the bridge. The bridge pairs well with the supposedly haunted tunnel we're headed towards.

The cows don't seem to mind the barn's state of disrepair. They're like "hey, nice bike".

Actually, the cows did come running up from out of the barn when I stopped to take the picture. They came from under the part that's about to collapse.

Playhouse, Schoolhouse, What? I have ridden by this place many times, wondering what is is/was. Today, I had the new small camera ready as I rode by - no place to stop or pull over.

It seems a little to big for a playhouse and too fancy and small for a school house. If you've any ideas, we'd like to hear them. If I ever see someone out in the yard, I will stop and ask.

Haunted Hoosac Pilgrimage - Green River Road Onward: Once over the Green River there a turn south along the river valley to pick up another Mountain Road.

I am guessing this was once a tavern along a stage road.

Now we are getting somewhere (i.e., into the hills)

Now we're up in the hills.

Haunted Hoosac Pilgrimage - To And Through Colrain: Four more road pics taken while riding to and through Colrain, MA, on the way to Hoosac.

Nice hills and sweepers coming into Colrain.

Nicely restored church structure in Colrain that looks to be converted into a home.

Now about to find and follow the North River west and north.

    More to follow.

Addenda & Errata - Take A Leak, Take A Pic: There are some single lane roads that you can be relatively certain will not have any cars coming down them. Such roads are a good place to park and drain the bladder. While you're at it, take a pic of the bike to remember the happy time.

Between the pictures above and below, I am thinking the new pocket cam takes decent moving picture at lower speeds Both were shot on the bike while at speed through towns (i.e., 40 to 45 mph).

Have yet to test the different modes at highway speeds. Auto mode didn't do so well first time out as there was some blurring up close.

Haunted Hoosac Pilgrimage - IFR: The next stretch took me along the North River on Adamsville Road.

There were some deserted houses along the way. Tough times in a tough hills area.

There is a picturesque area around the sugarhouse coming up on the left.

The sugarhouse pictured above and below is at coordinates 42.689204, -72.753872.
