Appreciate the advice and critique, Rudy. I was so busy learning to fly the thing while positioning the camera that I didn't think about birds. And, if that wasn't enough, there was the interest in what the camera was seeing rather than what birds might want to jump the drone's bones. Below is a case in point (i.e. totally focused on trying to get the best angle on an interesting steeple).

A Pleasant Ride Until It Got Stupid: Having plotted out a course to a location in NH on Garmin Basecamp, I was pleasantly surprised when the route took me along a lovely lake road.

Temps were good with a small breeze and the road looked promising.

Soon though, the road turned to hard pack sand and gravel around the lake and I am thinking, "How good is this?" Then, the road became a loose gravel path and I am thinking, "Pay attention, moron." Finally, the GPS tried to direct me into someone's driveway. Such is the good and bad of not putting in sufficient waypoints. A little backtracking got me to where I wanted to go and all was well.

Portrait Of A Happy Face Place: In the woods, nice hard pack sand and pea gravel, great weather, bike running well, tires and roadbed getting along well and a bladder just emptied.

An Interesting Colonial: I happened to park by this well-kept old house that had an interesting addition. It was located in Nelson, NH, at coordinates 42.989596, -72.128353.

The addition looked to be a combination of small carriage house and servants/hired help quarters or separate kitchen area.

There was absolutely nobody out and about in this small town hat I could ask.

Another Old Carriage Shed: When I posted the picture of the meeting house/Bullfinch Church in Lancaster, I forgot to point out that the associated carriage shed had been preserved. You can just make it out to the right of the church below.

Below is a close-up look at the old carriage shed.

You may recall that I posted a picture of a rare, curved shed behind the church in Hancock, NH. Shown below, that one has been very well preserved/maintained.

I had a couple of the smoke pork chops on your recommendation last year. Outstanding! I need to make a trip...

An Aerial Walk In The Park: Several aerial views.

The trusty redhead was patiently standing by while I was into some aerial browsing around.

When you ride to see things (as opposed to riding to make noise and be seen), aerial view give you another, interesting perspective on the things around you.

You might want to call ahead to make sure they have some. They were sold out of the smoked chops several times when I stopped but always seem to have smoked bacon, which I put into almost all dishes - beef, chicken, stews, soups, salads, etc.

Behind Stanley Mill: Below are two, sequential drone shots taken as the drone was taking off. When first launched, it rises up to about 8 ft and hovers, waiting for you to maneuver it around to get a GPS lock.

After snapping the shot, I took it straight up to about roof level and get the following shot. You can see the head race bottom left.

I've several more shots of the mill to post.

Washington NH: The local constable told me that this was one of the most photographed places in all of NH.

It was very windy but I got out the drone anyway, waited for the wind to die down, launched and got the following pic. Still not comfortable in windy situations, I didn't go much higher.

I no sooner got this pic than the wind picked up a bunch and I landed. I am getting more comfortable in windy conditions now, knowing the little drone can do a reasonable job holding position if it has a GPS lock.

Old Schoolhouse: Below is a picture of an old schoolhouse in the tiny hamlet of Nelson, NH.

Built in 1838, the structure is typical of one-room schools of the period. The first floor was the school room and the second floor was a public meeting or assembly hall. The structure is located at coordinates 42.989341, -72.127106.
