Flora, No Fauna: We don't take that many flower pictures while out exploring; however, below are two taken recently that caught our eye. The first below was taken yesterday.

The second below was taken several weeks ago.

IFR: Given the importance of New England rivers in earlier times (i.e., for water power and transportation), I tend to explore along rivers. Thus, the IFR or I Follow Rivers reference. There are times when you strike out and find the only thing near the river where you are at is a bridge. Since bridges are fair game for riders, below is one but it wasn't front page, pose your bike on it material.

The view was rather nice, though.

There was some interesting stuff further up stream, though.

Up The Souhegan: Below is the last of the pictures taken in Wilton, NH from the police station. The view is a little farther up the Souhegan River.

A Nice Stop: There is a nice place to stop, stretch, hydrate, eat whatever lunch you packed, and/or drain the bladder at the Quabbin Reservoir if you've not been there before. The image shown below was taken at coordinates 42.279895, -72.348735.

No Trespassing: You encounter this sign a lot these days, given the propensity for both defacing/destroying property and then suing when you get hurt doing it.

Such was the sign at the abandoned International Paper Mill the other day, but we got over it.

There are 8 distinct buildings in that mill complex (that closed in 2000), as shown in this schematic.

More No Trespassing: Interesting but not enough to launch a drone.

Blast From The Past: Behold the newly-converted (from raw with an up-to-date converter) 1928 Böhmerland.

As you may recall, the Böhmerland was a Czechoslovak motorcycle manufacturer from 1924 until World War II. This unit had a 600 cc, overhead-valve, single-cylinder motor.

Dead Head End: Below is the head end of the Pan Am RR yard in Deerfield. This is the area where most of the shunting takes place but the whole place was deader than a graveyard.

I read that the CSX purchase of Pan Am was back on track with the NTSB for an April 2021 decision.

Mohawk Trail Shot: Below is a shot of the Mohawk Trail (a.k.a. Rt 2) as it went through Erving, MA, looking west. I take this road a lot when going west past the CT River.

On of my objectives this summer was to get aerial pics of the Mohwak Trail at various points of interest.

Blast From The Past: This was the stuff of my early youthful longings - a scooter. Not this particular make/model scooter, through.

Although the name says Indian, these were manufactured by the Lowther Co. of Joliet, Illinois and was powered by a 6 hp. Briggs & Stratton. Note the rear shock plungers - they are dummies. This model scoot suffered from poor sales and was only made for one year. Those fork tubes are a joke. I would have busted them in short order. By contrast, the scoot of my dreams, and one i sold my electric train stuff for (i.e., a Cushman Eagle), was rugged to the point that the only thing I could break or wear out were the centrifugal clutch plates.

We're In The Green: This is an aerial shot I took today for another forum and thought I'd post it here. The view is looking north by northwest at our neighborhood. The house is about 3,700 ft. from the drone's position.

The other purpose of this flight was to test the drone's flight parameters. The drone would sometimes not get very far before starting to lose signals from the controller. I found it needed the iPhone's Wi-Fi turned off, even though you'd get a message saying to turn it on. Problem solved.

Who Photographs Water Towers? With them disappearing from the landscape, I do. Now with a drone, I can get a picture of them in the context of where they stand.

The good zoom on the RX10 also does good work getting up close.

Maybe Sony or someone will get on the stick and figure out there are people like me who really want an autonomous flying, very-high-quality camera rather than a drone to play with.

A Look At Pan Am Railroad's Main Line: You'd almost think it was an old abandoned line. Some are hoping CSX will upgrade the line. Freight shouldn't move at a snail's pace.

We're actually 2,000 ft. away from the pond with nothing but trees and brush between. The wind generally keeps them at bay. That said, I have wondered if I could attract a purple martin or two by building a bird apartment.
