1. Hey everyone, We’re going to start a weekly email to surface interesting threads in the forums. No worries, you can easily unsubscribe if you don’t find it interesting. If you’re like me, it’s nice to have someone willing to poke around a big community like ours and find the most interesting stuff. Saves time and I hate missing something great. It worked really well when we had someone discovering the best photos for the home page rotation back in the day. And if you have something fascinating to post, maybe this email does everyone some good by getting it noticed. Let us know what you think when you get it. Your feedback will make it better as we go (thread). Thanks! Baldy & rudy1220

    Nothin to see here.

Just a project to stop me going nuts.

I decided all work and no olay made joe a dull boy so decided to have a day off and come into work to work on that bike.
Not sure how or why i thought that idea would work.

It was going to be phil ride for the 24hr but there was a bit of project creep and it wanst going to get done in time.

Next plan is to ride it in thw transmoto 6hr woth some mates but that only two weeks away now so who lnows.

Shame :(. I always thought the 650 Vstrom motor deserved a more dirt-worthy chassis, especially as they can be picked up cheap.

Cross post - those pictures look great, but now you are just rubbing it in :D.

mate, if you can get that tart production ready by xmas you'll steal a march on those wankers at ktm and yamaha. you'll be that busy you wont know which way is up. 70 very reliable and cheap hp. whats not to like?

fill up the back shiny bits with petrol and fuck off those yellow bits (paint them orange or something :lol3). keep the cardboard and masking tape bits tho. bare foam too. they're cool.

They are a great little motor, as the late, great TK discovered and wrote when he tested one way back in Sidetrack days.

    Awesome!!
Re-routed that front header pipe alongside the donk and between / behind the rear brake-lever pivot for an extra 40mm of ground clearance?
It needs a new link-pipe then, but that's easy enough :clap

This pic shows the height of the header pipe being about 15mm ABOVE the skid-plate level, which I made new brackets for to only have 8mm clearance to the sump !
No heat (or other) issues after 45.000k's

    Yea thats the plan.
I built a set of 2-2 headers for philths strom and ran the front one like that.
I chopped that mid mounting lug off the frame for extra room as well.

    I'll got 2-1 for mine

Ffs, can we all pitch in for airline tickets so joe can pay a visit to the suzuki engineers? Better yet, make that 2 tickets so troy can give them a reason to guild goatstrom

    Yes, lug removed here, too.
    Good going!
I found they do like a balancer-pipe though, otherwise they're lumpy when HOT!
