Pre-owned prices have been dropping for two years except for Patek Rolex, AP RO, RM, and maybe a few other specialty brands. Some Rolex will adjust to msrp new, maybe somewhat less pre-owned, but there will be no big discounts on sports models.

IMO, it’s currently a pre-owned buyers market for all but the above.

The electronic wrist device market is also affecting most big brands !

The only real 'event' that has slowed the market was the 9/11 attacks. Other than that all Rolex models have generally held the same rate of
appreciation. The exception to this is/was the 16520 "Zenith" Daytona. It stalled at 10k and stayed there for nearly 20 years. It's only recently
started the climb out of the cellar.

What's a 2006 LV16610 market value now? The used prices are all over the place

But you're only going to yield that on a private sale if you have a good reputation. You'll never pull top dollar as a private seller unless you have an established record.

It's an Eterna day for me. Best $79.99 that I've ever spent.

Let's play "I have about $1,000 to piss away on a watch".

What are you buying? One watch. $1,000, give or take.

You did say "piss away"... :lol3

But seriously, the Oceanus line punches way above its weight. The tech is amazing, and it's wrapped in the most beautifully machined titanium I've ever seen. I bought a used OCW-S100 for 1/4 of your budget, and actually seeing and holding it in person it's hard to believe how good it is for the price.

Nope, not yet. Maybe never, depending on what BOSS means, and suspecting it's related to the "buy once, cry once" concept, which I find compelling sometimes.

10 watches that cost $12k, worth $5k, vs. 2 watches that cost $12k, worth $12k.

Been there, done that, still wasn’t happy.
