I won't judge on your sartorial choices, but Hamilton is a good recommendation, something like this:

Slightly over budget at $470 on Jomashop: https://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-watch-h82305131.html

I bet if you call Topper's Jewelers in Burlingame, CA they'll work with you and get close to that price and you'd have the watch from an AD with a proper warranty.

It will be interesting to see if the peer pressure here will induce Illiumrider to go with an automatic.

(My advice: get whatever you want - there's always time to get another one with a different type of movement.)

Edit: OK I can't help myself - if I were to have one, and only one, watch, it would be a manual wind.

What's the model number of that watch? I swore I was going to stop buying until I sold off all the watches I don't wear, but every now and then something catches my attention.......

This one has a sapphire crystal and fits the rest of your criteria. There is/was a black version on a strap for sale in the flea market.

I'd steer clear of the Hamilton if you actually want to swim with it. My buddy has one and it wasn't even close to water tight during a casual swim in a pool (yes the crown was screwed down). I'd go Seiko for a first auto or an INOX if you're in a tough environment ie garage, construction etc. I saw a Citizen Promaster Eco Drive at TJ Max the other day for 125 and INOX I believe can still be found for under 250 on a bracelet.
However if you're not in an industry where the watch is really going to take a beating I'd go auto for sure. Way more soul.

Look at deep blue. They are pretty feature rich for the money.

Citizen BN4021-02E. Keep in mind it’s 5 years old but if you just google Promaster Altichron you can find the current version.

I should add it will see very rough service . Garage, construction , outdoors. A local retailer carries both citizen and victornox- I’m going to stop in to see them and compare in person. Then shop around. Including the other brands recommended. There are so many choices and features, I had no idea. I appreciate all the help and thoughts.

INOX or G Shock then. Maybe Bertucci, I use one for my garage watch. I leave it in my toolbox and swap it out when I'm working.

Mind blown. That's the smartest thing I've heard all day. I'm going to to leave a DW-5600 in my toolbox from now on.

I’d go with a Seiko SKX variety, Turtle, Samurai something along those lines. They can be had for under $200 easily. Pretty durable, easily serviced by just about any watch shop, great legibility and lume. If for some reason they stop working give them a good hard whack and they usually start right back up.

Haha. Glad I could help. Came up with that maneuver after leaving a bunch of slag burns on my SKX crystal while welding. I was so pissed.

I have an INOX from Victorinox. Bought it at TJ Maxx for about $100! You can find some good bargains there from time to time. (pun intended)
