I've heard the Hodinkee insurance thing before. We're with jewelers mutual, but they only insure for appraised value, so the 45th anniversary Snoopy Apollo 13 and my 145.022 need reappraising. The Snoopy has sky rocketed, might become my first safe queen

Going to compare Hodinkee to Jeweler's Mutual...

I have enough autos, so I figure it would be nice to diversify a bit. Plus, manuals are simpler, usually thinner, and winding one is a cool little ritual before putting it on.

My Guinand Series 40 arrived, after nearly a three month wait. It was worth it.

Nice! I seem to have a thing for 7750-powered watches. Their DuoIndikator is quite striking. Congratulations!

Dangit, now somebody else has a Guinand. I thought I was the only one that Petra works for to serve my horological desires. Oh well, welcome to the club! Congrats!

The Starfighter is a great choice if the bigger case works for you.

I've got a 361 (and a Pilot Officer, and a Flight Engineer on order) and it's one of my favorites. I've always had a thing for pandas.

Most of my collection is vintage, and this is... Vintage. And it is perhaps my favorite watch of all. Maybe.

Lip Genève, perhaps the best watch made by Breitling.

I am getting pretty disgusted with Rolex and their dealers. Rolex could have taken better steps to curb the grey market flipping but they are choosing greed over all else.

Cough, cough, so did I... :dirtdog

Hope they'll continue to send "buy one, get one free" promotions so we can make up for what we "lost" a bit later... :D

Speaking of greed, I recently saw a new (2020) no date Sub up for sale by some poor soul that just couldn't bond with the watch...

    $17800 Canadian.

The advertised retail is $9500 plus tax.

    Pure greed, unadulterated.

There are a few people on a big watch forum who have some of the harder to get Rolex sports models such as Daytona and Hulk. They brag about being wealthy enough to buy them grey market and not having to wait to get one from a dealer. When told that they are part of the problem they cannot seem to understand supply and demand.
