The email said the deal was good for 30 hrs, and based on the time I received it, it expired an hour ago.

Great deal for Canadians. Garmin Zumo 396 LMT-S for $329CAD, which is about $249USD after conversion. That's about as cheap as it gets for one of these, and now I'll have one for my Tenere 700 when it arrives :)

Mine arrived today... Got it out of the box and updated it via Garmin Express.
Looking fwd to having a more weather proof GPS...
One thing though... Maybe I'm misunderstanding the unit's capability with regard to the Media player.
'Looks like I can connect my phone and have music play, skip, pause from the phone out the GPS's speaker, but... If I plug earbuds into the phone I lose the ability to pause music via the GPS screen controls...

I think that is controlled by the phone, not the GPS. At least it has always been true of my Samsung phones with various Bluetooth headsets. Plugging in earbuds overrides the BT connection, re-directing sound output and stopping BT access to the media controls. Unplugging the headphones pauses the music and re-enables the BT controls.

Doesn't look like it, currently unless I am missing something, which is entirely possible.

I have seen the $249 price several times. Maybe its limited time but they are available at that price.

I bought two at $249......one in July and one in September.

They finally dropped the price on the 595LM as well.

Still not cheap, but better than the normal asking price.
