Would someone happen to have the waypoints for the start of the following roads/Trails. 1, The west side entrance to Weber pass. 2, The west side entrance trail to gain access to Radical Hill. This would be when coming down off the back side of Georgia pass. Any other driving instructions would be helpful.
Here is a site link that I use to find waypoints using USGS maps. Maptech If Maptech can find the place, moving the cursor over the map will show the coordinates on the left side of the map. You can change the coordinate readout to DMS (Degrees-Minutes-Seconds), DM.MM (Degrees,Decmial Minutes), DD.DD (Decmial Degrees) or UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator). It will work with dial-up, slowly, but it works better than some of the others. Type in the place name and the state. It will give you a list of places with that name. The USGS maps will show trails, jeep trails, roads and contours. Try these places in the serach: Alpine, CO Engineer Pass, CO Good luck and enjoy.
Webster pass entrace from HWY 285 N39 29.051 W105 48.272 Webster Pass Summit N39 32.141 W105 49.967 I don't have Radical Hill dude, sorry.
the readings are: N 39 31.746 and W 105 52.002. The topo shows that west to east is mostly downhill. Not knowing the area intimately, it appears that east to west would be a better route. That being said, we did the Georgia Pass South Fork trail to Breckenridge which is downhill and it was a bit of a challenge and, therefore, a better adventure than the uphill climb - dealing with gravity as well as the terrain makes it more challenging. regards, Jack
Thanks guys, Its been a while since I have viewed this post. I look forward to a great summer of riding. Tim
