Last year at this time it was between onion creek and moab that we ran into snow
I have not been up there yet myself, but usually the La Sal mountains are still snowed in until late spring, early summer.
We rode over to dewey bridge and back yesterday. Felt like May outside.
I'll be down there this coming weekend for a few days, I'll try and check the Onion Creek to Milt's leg while I'm there and report back.
Here now, snowing in the La Salles all day, not sure how much.
Sounds like Springtime in Moab!
I was up Onion Creek and over to the beginning of Rose Garden Hill about two weeks ago and it was all dry. The climb out of Fischer Valley up to Polar Mesa was still snowed in.
In the last few days that I've been here (Moab) the mountains have been getting daily snow.
Hi, I'm riding the TAT from NC to CO with an advrider rider. He is doing the TAT --> CO discovery route --> pavement back to PA. I want to finish the TAT and concerned about the safety riding solo from CO to OR. Anyone know interested in doing the TAT? Even a day or two would be awesome and a great help. If I can't find a rider, Im probably going to squash the whole trip and try again next year. I'm willing to cover expenses. (Riding a WR250R) Please send me a PM, thank you!
What days are you coming through Moab?

About July 25-27, does that work?
I'm visiting GJ until about July 10th. Anyone interested in playing tour guide? Years past I messed around on the mesa, pinion mesa and escalante area. Full disclosure, due to some injuries & medical problems I have not been able to ride much the last few years. I actually haven't ridden at all since last September. So any single track would have to be fairly mellow. Some 4x4 double track would be a safer bet. If interested send me a pm, thanks.
Maybe. I work those days but I'll see what I can do
Waking up a sleeping thread. Brraappp!
My bike is back in working order after a 4 day assault in Baja California two months ago. My body has healed from the million cactus punctures.
The never ending rain season and cold has taken a break on the western slope and temperatures are warming up. I'm getting the itch to twist the throttle and get outside.
If anybody is interested in doing some riding PM me. I generally stick to single track and avoid pavement as much as possible.
Some pics of Baja.
I’m in. Just arrived back in GJ after being in AZ for spell. I’m looking to take some time off and ride in June. But I’d Love “local” rides as well.
Just went from Gateway to Dewey Bridge and back in my M1010 (Rambo the Ambo).
Anyone heard anything regarding the opening of the Rimrocker? According to the website Buckeye campground is open but the trail is still closed. Heading out for a 3 day loop (GJ-Moab-Montrose-GJ) this week, unless anyone knows of an imminent opening of Rimrocker I'll have to find a different route. Maybe Koko down, two-day loop around Moab, Koko up?
I went over La Sal a few weeks back and it was clear.
I know Lands End is still closed. Drifts over the road above 9k feet.
Thanks for the info, I am surprised La Sal is clear but that's good to know. Maybe we will do an out and back on La Sal instead of linking all the way to Montrose.
Yeah, the John Brown from Gateway into Utah was clear. Lots of snow on the peaks, but the road was pretty good. It was rutted up as it passes through the private property.
I will be in Grand Junction tomorrow morning to get a Harley serviced. I am debating pedaling out at Fruita or spinning around on the dirt bike if anyone is interested. Short notice, I know...
